Yes, very good! I and many PSO players I know have also felt this way before, so don't worry. It's normal.
Leave it on? Well (un)fortunately, not all of us get a TV/PC/'net connection to ourselves at all times

The only thing I hated bout PSO is u cant pause it lol especially on boss's. Though I guess that real time combat is real time no if's, and's bout it. Hehe though If im at the boss I usually tell my parents I'll be there in a min, cause that is how long it usually takes to kill one hehe.

when i get called for dinner i just get my character into and empty room and turn off the tv, but leave the GC on, then i come back a while later and continue. if i'm fighting a boss, i just start blasting it double time and i'm done in a minute..... or less.
Too legit to quit.

If I'm fighting a boss, and dinner's ready...
Then I have to re-heat it, ha ha!
I really take my sweet time beating bosses. I was fighting De Rol Le on normal earlier, at Lv 13, with a Slicer, doing 11 HP of damage everytime, and it took like 45 minutes.
Not fun.
I almost gave up.
