I tend to disagree with DM on this subject
. A FO is measured by how useful they are to a team, and as regards to the melee subject then it would be FOmarl.
1) She has a higher ATA max, only 7 mind you but still higher.
2)She has higher defense. By a lot in comparison
3) The larger support tech range means she can be in the fray while still being to help her party from far off
4)More hp means less likely to die. If the FO dies then its up to the rest of the team to fend for themselves until we can be revived. Dying is something a FO and their team cannot afford to do.
5)You keep bringing up the issue of damage but I gladly up the 160 damage per combo in order to be able to hit the enemy an extra time.On this issue Pomeha(who inspired me to start my FOmarl) can do 600+ damage with her S-rank double saber on ult. CCA(with a heavy hit of course) So in a double saber combo that's 300,300.....600.....600,600,600. She does this damage at lv.166 and my FOmarl being lv.82 can do at least 700+ plus damage on ult. Forest. Damage is not an issue for her.
If this were single player then hands down go with the FOmar but I prefer the FOmarl for versatility,and usefulness to a team. All things considered she has very bad animations for most of her usable wepons. Double Sabers, Slicers, Inferno Bazooka and a few other wepon types all you can depend on but if you're meleeing you don't really need much more. And S/D and J/Z help her out more than the FOmar IMHO.
