Hey PF my Tae-Kwon-Do instructer has that exact sword. He cut his pinky finger off with it, or just about. My Katana is made of 440 stainless steel and is mostly for show. I'm waiting till I get off my lazy ass and go back and start taking lessons, but I'm lazy. I need to get a competition kantana.

And Ria your sword is called a Boken, they are traditional pratice swords.
