I only ever got to play Episode 1 online properly, and I played 2 and 3 offline, but couldn't grasp much of a storyline from them. (I played as Orland for like, the whole thing.) I also missed episode 4.

So what happens in PSO? How does it all end!?

I must know!

If anyone could fill me in, I'd be proper grateful.

The story line of PSO goes episode 1,2,4 then 3. The story "ends" I would say in ep3, as if you beat both Hero and Dark sides you get the true ending where you see Pioneer 2 Land on Ragol finally.

Oh, did it? I couldn't even remember that.

All I remembered was that Episode III's story didn't fit in with Episode I&II's, and I have no idea what happens in Ep IV.

I knew the story well about a year ago but now I've just about forgotten it all. I remember these things:

When DarkFalz was destroyed, a man called Endu and the Great Shadow were created.
Principal Tyrell is no longer there.
The government wanted to kill off Androids to make space for experimental clones as the colony was running out of resources. This was known as OPSS incident. When it was over, Androids change their names to "Humanoids".
The government develops CARD technology.
The Arkz don't like that, so they use CARD technology against the government (who keep their old name, the "Hunters").

There wasn't much story at all and it's a little inconsistent with EpI&II (the Great Shadow/Dark Falz is supposed to respawn every thousand years, but it's only been like 15 years since EpI&II), but if you want some brief character backgrounds you can check here or gamefaqs . Hope you'll the characters interesting. Or not. :S So yeah, you're really not missing much!

I'm generally not very impressed with PSO's storylines. (Phantasy Star I,II&IV had excellent storylines, though. Especially IV.) ... However, PSO's gameplay, now that deserves...

I liked III's storyline, just couldn't find much of it! I played as Kranz for a while, until I got Orland, and made a game breaking low-level weapons deck with him, and pwned the rest of the game, and then was screaming at my GC for the ending. Which I did not recieve.

What they should have done was have Pioneer 2 not land on Ragol, but it has to go off to find a new planet, which would have linked nicely into PSU. IF ONLY THEY'D HAVE THOUGHT.

Yeah, III's storyline was fine as a standalone and no worse than Episode I&II's. I bet it has the best storyline for any card game!

If they went to find a new planet then they'd have to find a way of explaining the new class changes in PSU, and that would cause them far too much trouble .

If i recall pso ep3, it had a lot of story cutscences for both sides, but you needed to use certain characters against certain people to futher their side quests. The great shadow was some remenant of Falz/Olga. It was the basis of the C.A.R.D. technology which allowed one to creat something from nothing almost. Their was a lack of the material, which the Hunter side was looking for(Kranz was cloned with the technology) to have an unlimited amount of the CARD tech. The Dark side was trying to prevent this for they felt the technology would be abused.

In ep4, when they released the DDWBP quest, if you talked to Sue about the need for the photon cyrstals, her reply gives hints that they were being used for the beginnings of the CARD technology.

PSO Ep3 is 21 yrs after the events of ep2. Principal Tyrell is gone for his lack of getting anything done, though I forget how sucessful his replacement was, if i recall the whole Falz issue was kept quiet. I do remember the true ending credits showing Pioneer 2 finally landing, so I believe that finally ends the PSO story ark.
