The Birth of a Tiffany

Odd title no? :p

I was wondering around blackpool today, and during a visit to the model/figure/games/stuffs shop, i came upon a few models i thought looked pretty good, nice size, posable and everything. then a thought popped into my head, lets buy these and cut them up!

Yes, i'm making a PSU tiffany model

In this here thread i'm going to document how i go about it, hopefully with many a picture to go with, giving you an insight into how i make these :3

As i cannot find any pictures online of the models on hand to use, because i have absolutely no idea what they are from, and the only camera worth using is unavailable, i'll hold off on this until tomorrow, i think just get ready to enjoy the whole making process

Edit: Ok, here are the two models i am to be using, if you know what anime theyre from it might help out later on, when i try to find more :p



The one on the Right is the one i'll be making Tiffany with, The clothes on her are already quite similar to those of tiffanys upcoming Cowgirl outfit, so sculpting the details there is all thats needed. Gloves can be added easily too, and then the right pointy ear, i think i can get away without a left ear as the hair should cover it up.

The one on the Left Is a lot more awkward to convert, not only is there no skirt like that in psu, i wouldnt want one revealing panties like that on a figure ive made anyways :p so that'll have to be removed. this model has a more special purpose, and will not likely be followed along with in this article, just a tiffany for you :p

Good morning all! *gets to work*

EDIT: ok, been working at this for a little while, i've modelled on the details needed on it all, except the left arm, which has a weird face mask sort of shield to add to it, i'm just trying to figure out the best way to go about it.



Pictures a little bad, but it'll do, i have added the ear, the weird collary thing, a belt buckle, the wrist part if the glove, and trouser details, which also cover up a point of articulation perfectly, big gaps were there :p

Had a little accident with the head, the join on it snapped as i tried removing it, so unfortunately it'll have to be glued on in the one position.

Its looking good so far :p theres a lot less green stuff needed than i thought there would be, but thats pretty much a good thing, as i'm not too great with it :3

Heres the shieldy thing, and the left arm, i'll paint the arm black up to the elbow join, that gives a good marking of the end of the long glove as is :3 and the shield needs a good filing once its dry, unsure whether to leave it, sculpt on the grin, or paint on skull like teeth later on.

This is a good idea! I think its going to work out well in the end, and I've seen your other models and love them! I look forward to seeing it progress; I like where it's heading so far!

Heya zero! i think i'll be keeping the hair as it is, its a little longer than you can see there, although it would still be a little short, i might lengthen it in light of recent events...

what events!? well, I ran out of paint, it dried up. no worries, i'll go buy some more... where to get it quick, easy and cheap? EBAY!
... so i did...
the payment through paypal wont clear until march 1st!! and with her close to needing painting i'm going to have to postpone the project for a while, maybe i'll start work on the second character.

I managed to get some black paint yesterday, so i have at least managed to undercoat tiffany, shes looking a lot less messy now ^^ but i've hit a problem, due to its flexibility, the joint around her waist scrathes the paint off, you should be able to see it on the picture, this reveals the skin colour underneath again, the right arm also has this problem, as it grazes Her breast. i think i can get away with these though, as the skin colour should be more or less the same as the plastic before, so shouldnt be very noticeable :p
