"Premium popups"
#1
I heard on the news that these new "premium popups" have started to appear.

Supposedly, if you click on them, it changes your ISP settings, so that when you next dial up to the internet, it costs absolutely tons of money on your phone bill.

These popups have a picture with a button on it saying "close this popup". Clicking on the button does as is described above.

I'm just saying, be careful, and use alt+F4 to close them, as some have disabled the X buttons in the top corner.

Cya!

I think this should be stickied or something as it's something everyone needs to know. Apparently it can make your phone bill like £1000 or something.

I would if I were you, and tell the mod to put it somewhere more noticable.

This has happened to my ISP recently (Kingston Karoo), and they classed it as a bug. Its all fixed now were we are.

If you can hear the dialing up tone when you try to connect and it sounds different then it usualy is dialing a premium number. Then its best to check your settings or consult your ISP's helpline.

I'm sure if it was on the news or radio then the word woudl be spreading around. Also that dude who made the sassa worm got caught lol he must be good though...
