Hey, I was just wondering, how are the servers/rooms are physically setup.
I mean, when I connect to a server, what am I conecting to? Is it an xbox? Is it a PC? IS it a node in a cluster of xboxs? Is it one suppercomputing xbox cluster? And when I start a room, what does that have to do with the connection? If anyone can shed some light on this, please do.
thanks

From what i know, your Gamecube/Xbox connects to a set of servers (computer insides and circuitry with a load of databases, etc!). These are all set up across the world, so depending on country you go to depends on which ship you go to!
I dont think EU:Alphard's in the UK... but where-ever you connect, your connection is sent through the part of that country that SEGA owns!

It's not a matter of where the servers are, it's what.
Are the servers clusters or just databases?
Like when you log onto a server in, like, unreal tournament, it's just a computer.
That computer loads up that one level that everyone is in, and everyone joins it.
But when you join a server/ship in pso, there are multipe rooms running, and multiple levels loaded in each room
perhaps the ships aren't actually servers, just groups of them? IS it set up that each "ship" is just a group of servers, and each room is a server?
