Tekkers and me being lazy
#1
Is there a guide on tekkers somewhere?

I know that finds for tekkable items is different for different section IDs, but after finding a e.g. ???? railgun, a tekk with the Bluefull ID told me it's in the Heart, Mind, Soul, Geist family. Here're my questions:

Does which tekker you use from now on matter? e.g. Can it ever be something other than Heart, Mind, Soul, Geist if I go to a tekker of different section ID? (Too lazy to try it out!)

I know that attributes with 0% before the tekk cannot change, but is there a pattern to how much the changable ones can change? e.g. it started off with 5% native and 5% hit. Do both of these just fluctuate randomly with each tekking?

Sorry if that was confusing. And I hope that they behave in the same way in both Ver2 and Ep1&2. Please help Smile.

It makes a it of sence. I have had tekkes that make my ??? weapons turn out to be all different types of attacks not just one. As for what tekker it is I don't think it matters.

from my understanding of the tekkers, you can change the type of the weapon......for example if the tekker said your Railgun was something like Heart.....well you can either keep the 'heart' on the railgun or spend some extra cash trying to get the tekker to change the 'heart' into a soul, or perhaps even a geist type weapon. It could cost you an upwards of about 10000 meseta if your really desparate for a good weapon. But, it overall gives your weapon a much better special ability.

Sorry, that's not really making sense to me :'(
The Heart, Mind, Soul, Geist is the TP-drain family, yeah? If the tekker doesn't matter, then the weapon's special would be stuck in this family.

I just wonder if it can be in a different family with a different tekker, e.g. the HP-drain family i.e. Draw, Drain, Fill, Gush.

Sesshomaru:
So that's a "No, it will always be a TP-drainer even if you change Tekker"?

No, it cannot, ID does not influence tekking.

thats completely right. the actual 'family' of the weapon will never change.

Thanks Big Grin
Was I right about the %? E.g. Can a weapon with originally -10% hit ever become 40% hit after tekking?

true, and no weapon can have -10% originally, not on GC/Xbox/BB anyway.

i thought S ID did have alot to do with it? well my Skyly is good at finding swords and i found a Spirit Calabir (spelling) with 35% on hit and i wanted to get it to 45. so i spent about 20 min trying but the %wouldnt change. i think that tekkers are good at tekking what your id finds best. thats why i had my Purplenum tekk it. and i was able to tekk it in about 3 trys to get 45 hit instead of about 200 trys with my Skyly. well thats just a thought
