It looks really good. I saw it just before it was released in Japan so I haven't seen it yet. It had a much better title over there though, "Lovers". House Of Flying Daggers?! wtf

Ah, I am glad to not be alone...kind of...aaa...anyway, it is a good film. Most people will not like it just because they speak in Japanese (I think. Maybe Chinese) and there are english subtitles.

Personally, I prefer it this way. Japanese is a beautiful language WHEN IT ISN'T DUBBED! God! I hate dubbing so much. It always ends in tears...anyone agree?

I agree 100% about that! Subbing is far better then dubbing. Also, for animes they can screw it up so much with horrible voice acting + lame dialouge.

For example, I saw the 1st 3 eposides of Sonic X subbed when it was only in japan. I was a sonic fan and the show sounded and was voiced good. Then i herd the english version and it was horrible, the voice acting in the show is the worst i've herd (Cream'
s voice alone ruins the show).

Anyway alot of good shows that would have be good have been dumbed down by english dubbing. But a few shows like cowboy bebop and Inuyasha (both on late at night) have been spared from this fate.

It's a Chinese movie.
And who wants to read text when in a movie? Reading text detracts your eyes from the actual action because you send your time looking at a section of the screen that's about 3 inches high at the bottom of the screen. =/
I've watched 2 movies in Japan, that had to be subbed in Japanese text. And I just wouldn't have liked to sit there reading. You can go home and read a book =/ (provided you have a good enough imagination Wink).

Sorry for going off-topic.

Well i just think that dubbing takes away from the atmosphere of the movie, it can turn an otherwise good movie into a joke if you have say a scouser dubbing over a japanese guy. (no offense to any scousers lol)

I guess if you like subtitles or not depends on if you watch a lot of other chinese/japanese films or anime. If you get used to watching and reading subtitles, you'll find that you enjoy the movie due to the fact that you're hearing it in the original way it was meant to be expressed. But as far as anime, I've found that it really depends on which way you watch it first that determines if you like it dubbed or subtitled.

But refering back to the topic...I haven't heard too much about this movie, is it supposed to be an all-out action film(like Crouching Tiger or Bullet Symphony) or have a little more depth(like Princess Blade or Hero)?
