How can you do 3 or 4 players in PSO when there are only 2 memory card slots?

On the gamecube when you choose to play multiplayer it asks each player to select their character individually. So after you import one character, that data is temporarily transferred to the main memory card. So if you're playing three or four players then you just swap memory cards whenever a different person needs to import their character. Once you're done playing the game asks you to insert the corresponding memory card for each character to be exported and re-saved with whatever levels were gained or weapons were found during multiplayer play.

you mean if 3 or four people have their own memory cards, right?

1. insert two memory cards. select player 1's character, then player 2 selects their character (loads from slot b).

2. after load is complete remove memory card in slot b and insert third memory card. load player 3's character.

3. repeat step 2 for player 4 if there is one.

for transferring back characters just do the same thing, you have to switch memory cards to transfer the other players' charcters back to their cards (when you load a character from another memory card it is stored in a temporary character slot, so you have to return the characters or your friends won't be able to play with those characters until they are transferred back.)
