Staff Recruitment

As you may or may not have noticed, things have been rather slow on the main site. Due to Sol being busy with real life things, we've not been able to make some changes we think we need.
Sol should be becoming more available soon, but until that moment, we have decided to throw open some staff opportunities.

These will be for the actual site (rather than the forums). We need people who will be able to contribute to the site. Positions available can be found here. We are looking for 1-2 (additional) people for each slot.

We need news reporters whose task it will be to find the latest news for PSO (and related matters). News is obviously dependant on the situation but 2 a month is a guideance. Looking for

Column writers to write guides/articles (like Lee-Yoshi's Hunter's Gazette). Guides/articles should be submitted every 2 weeks.

'Runners' maintain and update the site's most popular databases - the information retrieved and submitted to the site will be viewed frequently by a very large percentage of the community. The integrity and popularity of these databases will be solely due to the efforts of the runners. Items should be added 5-10 every week.


People who become staff for the site, will have the option to become moderators of the forums at a later date/when needed. Some other benefits include staff member user titles on the forums (with stars), and access to Pioneer 1.

Once you have registered interest in a position (by posting here), we will close the thread and talk amongst ourselves (with muchies I hope ^_^) and see who we will give the positions too.
We are looking for people who have made a contribution to the site/forums and are polite.

i would love to help but i dont know what to help with. i could find out the latest info on PSO but i cant guarantee much though. i could write columns but would i have to find the info my self or will you all provide it??
PS what do you mean updating the tables?? do you mean by finding more things put on them that will help the members or making them look better and adding more info to them like at least 1 out of 3001 of these monster will drop you this.

I believe I would enjoy a job as staff writer. Since I couldn't really do much else on the site(I know only very, very, basic HTML). But I believe my typing and grammar skills are up to date. So what the hell I'll give it a whorl.

When PSOWorld went down I learned of Ragol from someone at Gamefaqs, and, since registering, have found Ragol a more friendlier, close knit group. I've come to think of this place as my internet home, and I would love to give something back (Not to mention the privleages that go along with it. ) I've always followed the fourm rules, or at least done my best to do so, and I believe I'd be good at the job.

As you've probably noticed the item database isn't full after 3 corruptions -_-.
So item runners are probably easiest to do since you only have to play the game.

(Note if you want to be a runner, say which one you want to do. Card or item.)

The other mods can provide HTML experience, I think most of us know enough HTML to make a guide, but if you do become one, we have some templates to make guides in Pioneer 1.

I think me and Sol can provide some information if you need it, but I'm afraid that we do have lots to do (ie university) which has to take presidence. But all the mods will try to help as much as they can.

Sorry, Decs for the double post,(my computer toolbar is being screwy, the back button is gone.) so please merge this, but if I get the job as columnist, could I also work as a runner? Not officially or anything, but I play the game enough, to compile lists of rares that I've found. Could you better describe the columnist and runner positions. I think that would better help me make my decision. Could you also explain the consequences of not getting things in on deadline, what kinds of things you specifically do, (runner for example, do they compile droprates or just rares found?) I realize this may be a little much for you to answer seeing as you and Sol are busy; but I don't want to be chosen and suddenly find myself in a position where I want to quit, only to have to make you guys go through a-whole-nother round of recruitment. Thanks in advance.

I could be an Item Runner, as that would probably be the easiest for me as I have uni as well. I also have much HTML experience, including CSS and Javascript, so I can help with that as well. But if you really need Card Runners, I suppose I could do that, though I'd have to dust off that Episode III game case.

I think I'll take a look at some of Ria's and Serpent's columns. Just to get a rough idea of the job. I'll edit this if, in fact, it is the job I decide I want.
