Ok...I'm finally glad i can get this oppinion out in the open. You see I (as im sure you do) play many online games, I've been playing online for roughly a year now and theres one thing ive realized time and time again. People are taking there game experiences to a new lvl, its starting to feel less like an enjoyable leisure from the world and more of a competitive experience,it now has a feeling like, "I have to be better then them." I know i wont get to well of replies from this opinion but I'd aprecciate if you took some time to think about it. How many times have you been online and have someone tell you they can kick the crap out of your char. How many times have you been called a noob when you know you arent one. Ive been told what to do with my gaming experiences to many times and it seems each time i dont comply i seem to get bombarded with insults or obsene remarks. I as im sure you would like a more relaxible gaming experience, all im saying is, try to make the gaming community a little less "competitive"

It's exactly to become better than everyone else. We wouldn't play PSO so much if it didn't come with bragging rights. It's all so we can go "Neener-neener-neerer!" to someone who we know is alot worse.
With offline games there really isn't any competition because there's no one to brag to and go "I'm better than you!" because you're often playing alone.
It's all for the bragging rights.

Hmm nevermind my PM Zion, this is a good thread....anyway..
I agree with whiteninja, when I make a character in a game, I try to make him better than everyone else to say ha! see what my hard work came out to be?!
And then, I kill them...

Offline players like myself can still play for bragging rights. What about the offliners that still play with you. For example, multiplayer offline. Brag to them.

I think that it's ok to brag sometimes, but it shouldn't be done maliciously to hurt others.

I was only called a Noob once, the irony is it was around the time i first joined PSO online. I said I wasn't new and then left, calling them noobs just before I left. Never saw those guys again.
The moral of my story: Don't let people like the ones in my story get you down, ignore them and just find another game, it's not like you'll meet those people again anyway. Also, they might be Noobs themselfs too trying to get street cred.

ok i see what everyones getting at,but, you see, what i was trying to say is that when you sit down to play a game it shouldnt be all about "im gonna make this godly char so I can kill everyone." I and every other gamer out there knows that its the best feeling to make a char that can own all. But what i was saying is that its not would it should be about.

I agree Zion. I create a char not to be big and bad but to have fun. I believe no one is better than any other so why should we have so much competition.
(Opens eyes, looks over to see the burger king guy staring at him with a burger.)(Kicks the crap out of him, steals the burger ties him down and makes him eat the piece of crab.................) I'm going to kill you ( complements to Stewie, your my hero.)

My next comment is in NO way a flaming comment and is NOT to offend anyone.
I make a competitive chart for a side fun....of course you play the game for the storyline, etc. but you build a character, and you are always curious to see how well he would fare against someone else...
And if you kick thier arse, then you feel good, and you like to brag...
Usually the people that are worse than everyone is sitting in the back saying...let's not fight...it's no fun

well God I can asure you im just as good a sport as the next guy, however, i feel that i must say this again, It's not a bad thing to make a char that owns everyone and its not that bad to even aknowledge that fact, but,to go make a char for the soul purpose of that fact is sort of the wrong idea. I'm not saying that competitiveness is a bad thing in a sence its what keeps the online gaming industry going, simple rivalry, but,I'm just trying to say that one should also make a char and not be criticized for the fact; their are many people out their that make a char to make it,to pass the time, even though they no it will turn out terrible, im just saying if your gonna make a char for fun i dont think you should be criticized for it.
