This appears to be the best place to make a thread involving such a topic. So, basically discuss the books, the movies, or the whole franchise in general. I ask that you all stay on topic, because I am beginning to crack down on spammers and such behavior will not be tolerated.

I ask that spoilers be kept to a minimum. However, if one related to one of the current six books or the films, listed below, is posted, please note that the spoiler is coming; and mark it well!

For reference, six of the seven Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling have been released, the most recent being last Saturday, July 16, 2005. The books, in reading and chronological order are as follows:

Book 1 - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Book 2 - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Book 3 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
---------- The preceding books have films released thus far, and Book 4's movie - coming this November ----------
Book 4 - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Book 5 - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Book 6 - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Book 7 - _______________________________

If you are wondering, Rowling has indeed announced that the series will contain seven books, thus seven years of study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the stories. I urge you to pick up these books and take a read; they're strangely addictive. Also, contrary to popular belief, the books are made for all readers, and not simply children and youth.

I liked the books and the first two movies, but i thought that the 3rd one was NOT as good as the 1st and 2nd movie... In the 3rd one they mixed up parts didnt they?

Thanks for the thread. I'm in the middle of the 5th and I'm itching to know who dies and what happens between cho and harry.... (This could get good if Hermione gets jealous lol)

ooo Ivan you will likely enjoy what's to come if you're near the middle of Book 5. I won't give anything away, partly because some of it is fuzzy to me now and my memory of it is fading (), but also because it is extremely interesting near the 3/4 mark of the book. You'll be on the edge of your chair, bed, etc. lol. You'll like it.

I'm currently reading Book 6, and I'm just about to begin Chapter 9, likely today (which is about 170 or so pages in). YAY!

I'm so confused though, noone believes dumbledore or harry but most of gryphondor and of coarse cho and some other people. I hope it's that bitch Umbridge who dies! I'm off to read my book!

mua ha ha ha ha. Oh yes, Umbridge, she's mentioned a couple times in Book 6 thus far.

I read 1 2 3 4 5 and i am reading the half blood prince(6) right now... we bought it yesterday and it is good i guess so far... Good luuck reading Ivan ^_^

Indeed it is very interesting. The first chapter, especially, Zer0, confused me a little, but was very intriguing.
