Many of you have seen what happened to EP I&II
Now many of you wounder what's going to happen to the upcoming EP III.
I didn't think I'd get shit for information from ST so I got opinoins from 2 people who are members on this site Tom Cottle (Junon), and Thesord (As himslef). I first asked Tom if he thought ST might go farther to make PSO III less "Glitchible". What he had to say was, "Dunno, I've heard they've done some pretty heavy beta testing,. So the feedback from players should help iron out all the glitching.
I then asked him, "What do you think ST did wrong with making EP I&II?" He said, "I think they should have stored PSO charcaters on a sever - not a memory card; that's why dupping has been made so easy; because characters, are stored locally. I know they charge 5.99 a month, so they can maintain the servers, make new quests, and other things like that. But prehaps thye should have spent more money on getting the technology to store characters on servers. They could have charged 7.99 a month. 2 extra quid from the people that play PSO could go a long way. I'd be happy to pay more if charcters were stored on servers and not memory cards."
Finally I asked him, "So you think sega made PSO I&II at the wrong time?; Not enough money?" His answer was something I thought alot of Dreamcast vets would say; "I dunno. I thought they would've learned from the first one on the Dreamcast but they did id exactly the same...they should have followed online RPGs on severs; its way safer. I don't know if money played a role in this desaster, or if they rushed to get it out and availible faster, but I would rather wait for a better end product than have it earlier, and not as good."
I also asked Thesord as said above why he thought PSO I&II came so shity? He simply said, "It was mainly the shop dupe, the multi equiping, etc. And about FSOD, im not realy sure but I've heard it was becasue someone cheated or simply by lack of game cube resources. If the case is the lack of the game cube resources, then I would think ST would have changed a bit of the game (Online wise), mainly in resource usage.
So what will happen with EP III? With all the planning and rumors going on will anyone even buy the game? We just have to inch our way closer to the ay it releases to find out.
