After a long time offline, the Ragol.co.uk forums are finally back!

Huge thanks to LiquidSpikes, and his hosting company NoBull Networks, for providing a VPS - and to decswxaqz for some amazing dev work.

The forums originally went down back in 2021, so it's great to see them alive once more.

Really appreciate the support and generosity - this wouldn’t have been possible without you.

A specific server advertisement

I'll try and keep it simple, most ppl play or know a specific server to play PSO and they often recomend it due to the population, updates,.... that they have.
Well, the server uses a very doubtfull donation management in wich they appeal to ppl to donate and even give incentives such as 2x exp, from very early sometimes they requested donations right after another request, making users question where did the previous donations went.

Now, there is another problem, as you might know you can't sell items for real money, same way you can't buy hacked items, the administration uses a strategy that not only they violate the rules they impose, but also makes me make this topic.
Long short story, crono and zero xd decided to do a scam, they would sell items (gm made) for actual money and use the money for themselves and for that they impersonated broomop, wich is smart because any complain coming from him would fall on def ears, he has a bad reputation and no one would believe him, on top of this, they would ban the user after receiving the money, meaning the user would be unable to complain, topics on forums are easily deleted, gm reports must be aproved (i think) and you're banned in the game.

After some time, some ppl figured out and crono asked zero xd to take the full blame, as stupid as it may be, zero took all the damage and eventually the scam kept going.

So yes, they were banning users that bought the items from themselves.

My point is this, since they scam on the forum, in the game and even use other forums to gain extra money, do the users of ragol.co.uk think it's still ok to able to pronounce the sc******? I'm asking this because i feel that talking about it, recomending it, linking to it,.... is the same as linking to a scam, we are directing users to a place where the admins will use all tactics to extract money from the players, giving the reason "it's to help the server" as an escuse, or if things go wrong they will use other users or the staff itself as cannon fodder.

So putting it simple, should we follow the same rules that PSO-world has? (not in the sense of blocking all server's names but that one in particular)
All opnions are valid and since Lee-Y is here, maybe he should give some input

As a personal note, i have already informed my youtubers of the situation, stating that all the messages containing that server name will be deleted, after that i took some time to delete most comments that advertise the server.

Sorry about the delays in getting the Ragol.co.uk forums back online since having issues with Jelsoft over the vBulletin system since late April.

But now it's finally back! Tell all your friends, the website and forums will be getting some kind of update soon hopefully*

Also, if there is something you would like done or if you have any ideas as to how to get this place booming again please feel free to post below!

Hey everybody!

How ironic of me to post this in the 'Site Updates' board, but yea, there's been no website updates since the dawn of... well 2009 really. Sorry about that!

Problem is im quite the busy body nowadays, and i havent had much time to stop by this place to post on these old forums, let alone make any website updates.

So apologies for that. Can you expect any website updates between now and the end of 2010? Well maybe, it all depends on how everything goes between now and then.

But yea, this post is just to apologise for this miserable year, and lets be honest, i dont think much has happened in the world of Phantasy Star recently anyways, and if it has, well that just goes to show how much attention ive been able to pay the legendary games series over the last 365 days!

I hope some of you are still playing away on PSO/PSU/etc. though, and be sure to have fun over the christmas holidays. I'm still here, despite how it might seem, and i hope you'll stick with us for the short term until i can get something sorted out

Forum Updates!! Exciting eh?

Following yesterdays update (Stating that a lot of the issues users had when making enquiries on the forums had now disappeared, even though they actually hadn't!) has now actually been implemented, with Ragol.co.uk's Community Forums now being completely up-to-date and advanced as they come!* Alongside the update, there's a few new features to see and abuse as well!

Forum Version Update
The Community Forums are now as up-to-date as they can currently be. New users will be required to enter more security information through reCAPTCHA™ during registration - A step taken to reduce the amount of them pesky bots that appear on the forums!
You should also notice that you (Hopefully!) won't be bumping into anymore "Can't find..." error messages upon posting something or searching for something in the beloved forum environment. The database errors will have also disappeared (Again, hopefully!)
New Forum Board (The Extended Phantasy Star Community)
A new board has appeared on the forums linking to the new Ragol.co.uk YouTube channel, as well as introducing a new podcasting board.
Podcasting!
You can now post your own podcasts on Ragol.co.uk! Whether you just wish to share an mp3 you have, or post a show you've made concerning something Phantasy Star (Or not!), now you can share it with the entire Ragol.co.uk Community, or world! RSS (Including iTunes) users can also subscribe to Ragol.co.uk Podcasts so whenever a new podcast is posted, the show will be waiting for you on your desktop!
New Social Networking Features (Example)
Got a Ragol.co.uk Forum Profile? Well, your profile has changed! It now looks more like something from mySpace/Facebook than a forum profile! You can now add friends, leave messages on profiles, view groups, statistics, and more, including...
Profile Albums (Example)
Upload your own pictures and show them off to other forum users in the form of photo albums!
Multi-Quoting
You can now quote more than once by using the multi-quote button in your reply!
New Icons & Styles

Customise how your profile is indeed styled! Play around with the classic Ragol.co.uk look to suit your style down to the ground including custom background pictures!

If you have a new notification such as a friend request, private message, profile comment, group invite or request, etc. you'll now be told about it alongside your private message box on the top right of every forum page.

Unfortunately with everything good comes some things bad, there are a few bugs that i need to look into, but in the meantime if you do find any others please let me know below! If theres anything else you'd like to see let me know below or just comment in general on the new goods!

With the recent loss of the official Sonic Team Phantasy Star Online Nintendo Gamecube servers, many people have been asking me two main questions?

1) Does this mean i cannot complete any of the online quests anymore?
2) What is Ragol.co.uk's stance on the Schthack servers now?

The answer? No, online quests can obviously not be completed anymore. However, online play is still possible through unofficial PSO Nintendo Gamecube servers, that being what's known as the Schthack server.

With there being no alternative now for online play, the Schthack server can now be discussed on Ragol.co.uk and it's community forums as the rules loosen a little. HOWEVER people should be warned that it is not recommended to be played on by Ragol.co.uk, and that the possibility of cheating and hacking occuring during your online PSO gameplay experience while aboard these unofficial servers varies widely at differing times. To this end all players if deciding to use this server for online play should ideally check the place out first using a completely different character on a completely different memory card and then decide if you wish to use the servers more with your usual characters as memory card corruption is still possible. The servers are not updated, maintained by, or have anything to do with Sonic Team or the SEGA Corporation.

Discussion rules on Ragol.co.uk and it's community forum concerning Schthack include that the server itself can be discussed with meeting times and place, or experiences, etc, BUT as usual any links posted to external sites and/or forums which contain cheats or hacks (Including methods of such activity) on the forums will lead to the links being promptly removed by a moderator & may also lead to a sudden unwarned ban as we take this issue very seriously and like to lead players into an enjoyful gaming experience.

To this end Ragol.co.uk is in no way responsible for anything that occurs on these servers and would like to suggest that players using this method of online play to take the utmost care, and only hang around with the right crowd!

With all of this in mind, details concerning how to play on the Schthack servers will be left upto anyone with more information and comments can be placed in this Ragol.co.uk Forum Thread.

PSU Item Database

It's about time for a thread like this, heh.

If you have any comments, feedback, suggestions, or you want to post data or corrections for items in the PSUniverse Item Database here is the place to do it.

I already have the stats for pretty much anything that can be store bought both online and offline (They just all need to be added - there's well over 200 items to do), but I do require stats, drops, and price info - as well as anything else relevant - so if you could post stuff like that it'd help a lot

It might be an idea to look at existing database entries to get an idea of what might be worth submitting - bear in mind that many things differ between the online and offline modes of the game too, so it is a good idea to state which mode the data you post applies to.

If you wish to post images to be used in the Database, use this thread.

As for progress, I added around 44 weapons to the Database today, I will add more tomorrow.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later and i decided now was the right time.

I have not had nearly enough free time as i would have liked to work on ragol.co.uk and psuniverse.net over the past 12 months. It has got to a stage where things have really needed to be fixed but have just got left. I have also just started a new job and i am very strapped for cash right now.

I really did not want ragol.co.uk to just shutdown and be forgoten so i asked Lee if he would be interested in taking on the site not only as head admin but site owner. You'll be pleased to know he accepted

Unfortunately this means my involvement with ragol.co.uk is about to cease, i will still check back now and again to see how everyone is doing and will be around to help Lee with any problems he has with any of the forum systems etc the best i can.

I appreciate all the efforts every single one of you have put into this great site and i am very happy that your hard work will still continue to be appreciated by everyone who visits!

I think ragol.co.uk has now been going for about 4-5 years, thats a hell of a long time and i hope it can carry on for even longer. Im very sad to be leaving but i feel its for the best as i cannot currently give the site all the attention it requires.
