The following exe files allow you to play PSO v2 (pc) in a higher resolution, this is a demo version so you can feel and see what is wrong and what is right, this is not definitive work and was made merely to demonstrate the concept.

This began a long time ago, but i never went very far, eventually i asked at eden on how to approach this, i gave the 1st step rather quickly, but i was unable to keep going and so i asked for help at a community that does this on a daily basis, i came across someone who doesn't seem to be a PSO player, but he knew more about widescreen than i ever imagined, in a short amount of time i saw the game in widescreen and in a higher res.

From the very basic demo, i took plenty of screenshots of pso v2 that exceed the quality in PSO BB, here's a comparison between the regular PSO v2 and one in 16:10 at 1680x1050

Exe info:
- I do not believe they have other patches other than window mode or no window mode, meaning this works like the default pso.exe
- No server ip (cannot connect online)
- No mouse support

Instructions:
Before proceeding, backup pso.exe located in
X:\xxxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline

To play a higher resolution version of PSO v2, navigate the folders, 1st set of folders you decide which Operating System you have, 2nd set of folders will decide window mode or fullscreen.
Window mode even in an unsupported resolution may work, but i can't garantee that this will happen on all cases.
3rd set of folders decides aspect ratio and the final one will decide the resolution.
I know there are more aspect ratios and resolutions, but again, this is a demo, please use what is available

Once you reached the final folder you will find a single file named "pso.exe" simply drag and drop the file into the location of your pso.exe
X:\xxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline

Known issues:
- Background images do not stretch/scale and are off-center
- User interface does not stretch/scale and is off-center
- Main menu in-game does not display black background (not really an issue)
- Area Map uses the entire screen
- Particles, techs, damage values do not scale and are off-center
- player arrow and map are zoomed in

Other info:
- If you plan on connecting online, please use ip patch and insert the ip, by default these exe files do not connect to any server (reason: being neutral)
- Patches are possible, maybe in the future when more alterations are in place, this way is simple but requires multiple exe files, the more the resolutions and the more the support, the higher the number of exe files required to satisfy the players.
- Yes, there is a version that is more advanced then the ones available here, particles scale and are centered, but only for 1 resolution, i do not know how to change that.....yet

My computer isn't really reliable enough to play Blueburst any longer (And I never saw anybody online when it was reliable enough) so I've mostly been playing my old Gamecube version of the game. My goal is to get through episode 2 with my highest leveled character, a Hucast. The relevant points are as follows

-He's currently level 115 and at the Central Control Area.
-He has an ideal mag (5 defense, 145 power, 50 ATA, 0 Mind)
-He has the best double saber I can currently get him (Demolition comet. Want to eventually ge a Double Cannon. I'd focus on getting a Black King Bar since it's objectively better, but I can't afford a broadbad adaptor), and a good long range weapon. He could probably use a better sword (Best thing I have right now is a 35% hit calibur)
-His power is basically as high as it can reasonably go, what with 4 God Powers.

His section ID is Redria. I've got a level 63 Force with Viridia as her section ID, and a level 55 Hunewearl with Skyly (planning on using her to get a decent sword. Too bad Sealed J-sword is a 1/12604 drop).

That's everything I can think of that's relevant. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Info:
Another port for v2 with a small difference, the skin for blueburst isn’t quite ready and Forest 2 is unfinished, but that doesn’t stop me from releasing a forest 1 skin for ultimate.I pretty much changed all the textures and some of them i did them myself, the main issue was that nearly all the textures were at half res compared with the default ones that come with PSO, that didn’t make the skin look bad, it was quite the opposite, however i felt the need to make the textures at least at the same size as the default ones, so i pasted textures together in order to make one big one.
I fixed some problems with leaves and i used a higher res image on a light source.

So yes the skin isn’t exactly a copy and paste from the blueburst skin, you may notice a few differences if you play both versions side by side, from the leaves, the rocks and most noticeable the texture transitions.

I may update the skin with a Forest 2 skin if it gets finished
So yes the skin isn’t exactly a copy and paste from the blueburst skin, you may notice a few differences if you play both versions side by side, from the leaves, the rocks and most noticeable the texture transitions.

I may update the skin with a Forest 2 skin if it gets finished

Back when i did some credits edits i only cared for the visual part like the background or the images displayed, but in order to do something special for a friend i tought of changing the actual credit text, easier said then done, i didn’t knew how did the credits behaved so a trivial edit was more difficult than it seemed. I asked for help and Tofuman explained to me how credits worked and what was required to make them work and function properly, problem was that it required time even for the most simple of edits, something wrong would in the worst situation lead to a crash, in wich required you to look everything once more.

To simplify the hard part, tofuman created a text editor that is able to pick up the credits file and display it in a much simple way, it also enables you to save the file so it will work with PSO, you can use this for many different ends.

Before you download and go straight to edit titles and names there are a few things to have in mind, and some of them aren’t easy to detect:

Regular text is a title, this means it uses nearly all the possible characters, i can’t say you can use them all but the majority of the font can be used, it uses the file texttex_e.pvm, in my case it uses this font

Names are introduced by inserting “#” before the name, the name can only accept caps and a few other characters, numbers for example are limited to “0,1,2″ as they are the only ones necessary to represent the year 2000 and 2001, if you want to add the number 3 to represent 2013 then you need to replace another character like the “,” in the texture file and then type “201,” in the editor
The file it uses is the ed128_font.prs

At the end of the file you will find a “*”, this determines when the credits end and will select the last 8 lines (blank spaces included) that will be displayed at the end, no further text will appear.
Keep in mind that the ending has 2 parts, one with the red ring spinning and another one with a sequence of images, you can never end the credits before the 2nd part, only when the 2nd part has begun can you end the credits, you can end the credits at anytime and even before the transition, but once the 2nd part begins then you will see 1 image at most, after that the credits will fade into black.

Last but not least is a character in the middle of the credits, this character cannot be removed otherwise the credits crash, so make sure to include it somewhere in the credits, it will not appear as text, it just needs to be in the editor. To find the character, go to “system r&d dept.” section and check the name “#YUKI■@YAMANAKA”
The symbol is the square looking one, you can delete the “@” and the rest of the name, but leave the “■”
If you delete and you are unable to revert back then reload the file and start over, the other option is to add the symbol’s hex code in the credits, wich will most likely alter many other things wich will also need to be checked manually, defeating the purpose of the editor and raising the chances of mistakes wich will lead to crashes.

I haven’t tested all the possibilities like using numbers, not using the “*” at the end, how long can the credits last, can we add more images to the ending,…..
Any Bugs you may find please contact tofuman at PSO eden server or contact me if you are unable to contact him, i will point him any bugs anyone finds.

The download also contains the original PSO v2 ending credits, any problem and you can just switch back.

Info:
Another port, this font was actually easier to do than the Lynx font, only required a few changes after the 1st attempt.
After seeing echelon font i quickly made a port of it, but the majority of the font wasn't done, PSO BB barely makes any use of the font, it's mostly for things such as damage values, "HP", "TP", "EXP",.....
This means that a direct port to v2 wouldn't work that well, i asked echelon for the files and while it wasn't exactly what i wanted, the font was partially done, so i took the style and made the remaining letters and symbols.
I don't know if PSO2 uses this font, but it's similar on many aspects, the majority of the font was hand drawn, pixel by pixel.
Since what i got was a file with everything in just 1 layer, i had to extract the numbers somehow, so i used the image and the alpha (since selecting the numbers didn't work well), from that point forward since i was manipulating not only the layers but also the color layers, then i decided to do a .pvr image, wich outputs a superior graphical quality.
This means this is the 2nd font in .pvr available (being the 1st the one made by sega), while the other fonts could have been done in .pvr, i never really felt the need to do it and all due honesty, this one didn't either, it was a matter of preference.

Font has a light cyan color and a thin blue glow, it wasn't made for light backgrounds, if your goal is to read someone's name in the lobby then please pick another font, this font makes names hard to read.
Info:
I was surprised, i didn't expect the port to work on my 1st try, but it did, many falz textures are in a higher res and the remaining ones have a nice retexture that don't go far from the original falz look.
Looks good so i decided to port it to PSO v2
Info:
Pretty much the same skin i did for v2, one texture in the background is unaffected by texture editing, all the blackness is converted into grey wich kinda ruins the atmosphere, nonetheless it's still a nice skin to try out.
Like on the v2 skin the sky is high res and the clouds have been improved.

Echelon finally released the files and i went straight to making a port of it, i also added the blue rappy as the rare rappy, it's the same skin but with light blue instead.
It's not a huge difference but i enjoy the new skin.
There are a few texturing problems but they are small and nearly invisible in normal gameplay.

Installation:

- Individual installation
Unlike other files, this one needs to be placed into several locations, more specifically inside 2 files.
You need a GSL update: http://psodev.free.fr/outilPSO/GSL/GSLUpdater.rar
Open the program and locate the GSL files in the pso directory (gsl_forest01.gsl and gsl_forest02.gsl)
X:\xxxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO

Locate the files and make sure they are not as read only

Start by opening one of them "file > open", you will see a list of files that these GSL files have, locate and select "bm_ene_lappy.bml"
Select "Content" and then "import"
Grab the file you downloaded
Select "File" and then "save" with the same name
Repeat the process for gsl_forest02.gsl

Start by opening one of them "file > open", you will see a list of files that these GSL files have, locate and select "re3_b_lappy_base_ao.pvm" (rare rappy)
Select "Content" and then "import"
Grab the file you downloaded
Select "File" and then "save" with the same name
Repeat the process for gsl_forest02.gsl

- By copying
If you do not desire to mess with the gsl files and want just a copy and paste procedure then use this.
Select the gsl files and replace the files in X:\xxxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO
Keep in mind these gsl files already contain a modification regarding the blood, if you do not wish to have the blood i provided in another skin mod then use the individual file installation method

The 1st font is a port from the one made for PSO BB, i liked the change so i made it available for PSO v2

Credits:
Tamashii for making the font available for PSO BlueBurst

Info:
File contains 2 folders of the same font skin.
You need to pick one that you like, the “High res” folder contains a direct port of the skin made, meaning it’s at a higher res then the default game font but you can only see the changes in some aspects, since PSO v2 doesn’t have any high-resolution options then i made another file inside “regular res”, this one contains the font skin at the same res of the original pso font.
The differences are minimal between the 2, but they do exist

Installation:
replace the file texttex_e.pvm in …….\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO with the one provided in one of the folders.

Download:
http://www.univers-ps.com/psobb/skin/tel...?l=881&t=d

Screenshot:
http://www.univers-ps.com/psobb/skin/ima..._00881.png

This 2nd font is one i made recently

Info:
Then i did one of my own, i grabbed a random one from the web named lynx and made it available for PSO v2, i wanted something readable but cool nonetheless, i say this because one of the fonts i will port in the future will be the one echelon made for his PSO2 skin mod and as far as i can say is that the font itself makes names really hard to read, but the font itself and the numbers look really nice.

I went with that idea but decided to make the font i ported readable by adding emboss, a black line would also be nice, but that increases the font size and i wasn’t in the mood to resize all letters into a smaller one just to add a black line around them, emboss was fine.

The font is high res btw.

Installation:
replace the file texttex_e.pvm in …….\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO with the one provided in the folder. Either that or just grab the media folder and place into the PhantasyStarOnline folder.

I had them for quite some time and probably forgot to make it available for v2 players.
Out of the box skins i saw this one was the best in my opinion, really simple, good appearance and most of all visible on longer distances.
Yes, the other ones are just as appealing but with few things to tell them apart then you may confuse a dispensable item with a shield.
This was a simple port, the dds compression used on BB didn't bother me much so in no way i felt the need to remake the images and then save as .pvr or .bmp textures.

Info:
This quest is avaiable for testing on Vega only (sylverant server), in the quest selection there will be a test section with this quest only.
I encourage ppl to test the quest and post any bugs that you may find, the quest can be completed but i can't say for sure that everything will work.
The quest was made originaly by SEGA and was made playable by CBNJ (aka Cyborg Ninja).
The quest itself received some modifications so it doesn't crash users when using some features, so it's not 100% exactly the same and the quest ain't finished at 100% either, for now it's playable and that's alot.
For example, for now there isn't any description in the quest, that's also one of the reasons why i'm saying here what you have to do.

The quest is a 2 player quest, meaning you cannot do it alone, so make sure you have someone at your side, not only 2 players make the warps work, but another player is also required to help you reach certain rooms.

Long short story a group of 3 rappies need you to find fuel for their rocket so they can fly, this fuel is placed in forest 2, caves 3 and mines 1.
The more fuel you gather, the different will be the ending, there are 4 endings and i might do a youtube video on it, it's not every day i see
rappies flying
This is one of the best quests i have ever seen, it's not boring in anyway, the rooms with fences are simple and challenging at the same time because there might be enemies to stop you, you can beat the rooms in so many ways, giving this quest a random effect, especially because you're playing with someone else.
The strategy for this "random effect" is simple, instead of a wave with 10 enemies, we get 10 waves with 1 enemy, so each enemy killed will make another wave come, this may mean that there are no stops in the fighting and even beeing prepared for the room will not help you, especially because you don't know what your teammate will kill 1st.
You have 3 different areas and you do not always fight to get into the next room, so do not expect lot's and lot's of enemies in 2 rooms like you see in some quests.

Some rooms contain a quiz of some sort in order to access the fuel, a question is made to both players and both must give the same answer, you can retry as many times as you want.

Quest can be finished with only 2 fuels (wich will give you an ending nontheless)

Quest has some rewards at the end, however, the usage in any way is not alowed in legit marked games (for now), still, the items gained are not broken or anything, there are other quests that give out the exact same items, but for legit purposes, use other quests to gain the items.
You can always drop the items at the end if you do not want them.
You can use and abuse this quest to gain exp because there aren't that many enemies to fight, so i'm sure when it comes to leveling you will find normal gameplay alot better for that effect.

Info:
This is a graphical mod that applies a filter on the game that is beeing run, it applies several things PSO does not have, being one the bloom effect, like everyone, you will either like it, or hate it, PSO will look shiny but beeing able to read chat bubles would be nice, the EP3 lobby i made has lot's of white, whith this mod i could barely see anything in the lobby

Now there are good news, this mod can be activated and deactivated while you're playing, all it requires is a combination of keys (shift + F12)
Also, this contains a .ini file with all the options that can be enabled and disabled, so you are free to tweak the bloom and other effects to fit your taste.
If you do make a modified .ini and you like it, then share it so we can all see and use it.
This has been avaiable for ages but only now i found one that works, i saw the post that GAMA did at another forum and not only works with PSO BB, it also works with PSO Ver.2
This can be used on just about any game, not just PSO v2

System Requirements:
Videocardwith support of Shader Model2.0 or better. Videocards in the list below may fit:
GeForce 6100, 6150, 6200, 6600, 6800, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950, 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800, 9600, 9800;
Radeon 9500, 9550, 9600, 9700, 9800, 300, 600, 700, 800, 850, 1300, 1600, 1800, 1900, 1950, 2400, 2600, 2900, 3850, 3870.
I can't guarantee that mod will work on all of them by many reasons (different drivers, hardware reduced versions and just because not tested myself). ENBSeries (current version) will not run at all or will not work properly if hardware by any reason not support minimal requirements of the mod. Videocards with lower shader versions capable to work in theory, but they are too slow, no sense. Videocards of new generation (DirectX10 compatible) in common cases works much faster in this mod, than their performance equivalents in DirectX9 games.
The requirements to videomemory size are very high, depends from screen resolution and antialiasing, for example without antialiasing in a mode 1024*768 it cost 64 Mb of videomemory, and for 1280*1024 106 Mb are necessary. Operative memory and processor play an insignificant role, though all should be balanced.

However, PSO v2 can't use all the effects, so bloom is not very demanding.

Instalation:
Simply drop the files in the same directory as the game exe file, once you load pso.exe some green text will apear at the corner, telling you it's active, to activate the effects press Shift + F12, same combination to deactivate it.

Download:
This download is my own personal bloom, not to intensive but still there, providing a great effect under any circunstances
