Maybe it's like a hose? I have no idea...
Do they have like a vacume-like think that keeps them together?
Perhaps. There has to be something that holds it together. Maybe some kind of special glass?
:S Maybe, but the photons would break it wouldn't they?
Maybe, maybe not. there must be some kind of containment device to stop too much photon flowing through.
The power of . . . I don't know. Maybe they use paste. Tongue Um. I guess they use a diamond like substance.
PSU answers all these questions with the synthesis.

Weapon hilts are made of the wood used, obviously, and the Photon blade has a metal core, coated in the ore catalysts which bind the Photons used in the synthesis to the metal.

See? Simple.
Oh yeah... What about stuff like te Svaltus Sword? I know it uses wood and metals, but it also uses the Svaltus Edge, which isn't a normal synth material. And since all synths use four different types of material, one has to be pushed off to make way for that.
That's odd. Usually, Biomaterial and Gems replace Metal, not Ore.

In this case, though, the Biomaterial Svaltus Edge replaces Ore as the catalyst. If you add the Edge to the Stelnium blade base, it makes it easier for the Photons to stick to the blade. And, of course, there's the Kubara Wood for the hilt.

EDIT: Wait, the Vahra Claw has two different recipies for Online and Offline... Online, the Biomaterial replaces the wood, and Copernia replaces the metal required. You still, however, need Kerseline a to bind the Photons to the Copernia-edged claw.
Ah, that makes sense. And my guess is the wood also acts as an insulator to stop the photon energy burning the user's hand.
