but seriously off balence, compared to the real thing... (f.y.i. its called a boken)
well of course it's off balance, I mean, the hilt and the blade of a sword are supposed to weigh the same, on most wooden swords, there is no distinguishable hilt, it's basically a wooden stick with one side kinda sharpened to represent where the blade would be.
this is true, i wasnt demoting the use of a boken... i was just stating not to take practice with one too seriously without realizing that there is a difference...
i know you were, and I was explaining why Tongue hey gotien, go to my art thread now, the pic is up (there's two Kenshin ones, the one with more people is the brand new one, the other is from last summer) you will probably appreciate it.
^^ Dont think I havent ever held the real thing! I have, in fact, Lil Miss (my best friend) older brother let me practice with him. Thats what got me started. He bought this little dagger for me, but I left b4 he could give it to me.
lol daggers....I can't go on with my rant because it would be off topic but before we get yelled at, lemme explain the relevance of wooden swords to the thread. 2 main (kid) characters in Rurouni Kenshin use Wooden Swords as practice. There's are the bamboo kind (not the one's we have been talking about) though.
Right. In the manga, you see Kaoru go at Kenshin with a Bokken though.
the other one that is made of bamboo(used by Yahiko) is called simply a "Kendo stick"
What else could you call it? A child's play thing?
That's what a bunch of people in the show call it lol.
