it'd probably mean someone that was not only totaly crap at the game, but new too. i mean you can be new and good (though its not that common).
i always thought n00b was just newbie for lazy people (like twinbanj, lol).
The word "noob" is always used as a derrogatory word so I don't think it matters what the definition is it's just an insult.
To clear up many posts...
The word newbie/newb means somone new.
The word n00b (with 2 zeros) means an idiot, moron, or brainless person.
The word noob is just a slang form of n00b that some people are too lazy to type so they add o's instead of zeros.
THe word n00b is one of the most popular insults in one of my favorite games, so don't go telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about.
