Switching it over doesn't really bother me because it doesn't effect the modem as long as the computer is off when i pull out the wire Thanks for the advice though.

The computer understands, it's either too stupid or too caring to notice it's had it's wire pulled out. It'll just register that the ntl server is down so it cannot connect when it gets put back in then it will be fixed.

Next Saturday will be an adventure to the computer hardware store!
