ive had the same MC's since 2003 (i think maybe 2002) but in other ways i only take em out when transporting my gamecube or need a MC at my friends house

Heh I dont even take mine out to transport! (Maybe I should, or they may snap off or something :S)

yah thatss why i do it.. my friends, friends hull of the MC broke and the memory got stuck in the MC slot then he only had an empty shell xD

We've got a "4gamers" m.c and it hasn't corrupted and this is the chars on it
