hey everyone im in a bit of trouble. I need some1's opinion on what the best attack technique is. Is it reg pow pow, reg reg pow, reg special special, reg reg special, reg pow special. I just need anyones opinion. when I go on forest or cave runs i use soul eater +6 ruins i use the soul eater as well. for the mines i usually use a brand or mechguns. I just need a few opinions and i'll tell you wich i chose out of em all please put at least 1 for each because i am very confused. I have gotten many knowlage on the attacks but cant figure out wich to use.
Depends on the ATA of the weapon. If you have a good, accurate weapon the best combo is N-H-H (normal-hard-hard) except perhaps in cmode, where many would tell you to do normal-hard and then stop). N-H-S (special) is good for an appropriate weapon... or possibly even N-S-S for certain weapons (ones with hit, for example). With some weps you can switch the order around a bit... I have a Frozen Shooter with 35 hit, and I usually do S-H-H... at this point the enemy should be frozen and I can keep blasting away with H-H-H combos (with the occasional re-freezing shot, or I could even do S-S-S because the FS's special does hard-attack damage) until the hunters in the party kill it.
With mechs it might be easier to do N-N-H depending on your ATA... most rangers at a good level have no problem pulling off perfect N-H-H combos with a mechgun, but hunters usually have a bit of a problem there. So if your second hit is a hard hit and the shots aren't connecting, try switching to N-N-H. As for a saber-type weapons against mine enemies, N-H-H might work unless the Gillchic falls too far away from you to connect with the second hit, at which point you should try N-N-H. Dunno. Usually I try to take them out in groups with a slicer, partisan, shot or technique (depending on class). Slicers work nicely on Gillchics, IMO.
ok thx for hunter and ranger and eveything else tips i usually use my SOUL EATER+6 but sometimes in forest runs i use mech guns or brands and i cant remember the legendary weapon of the sabers I use that sometimes.
i mean not really really legendary but in its title it says only strong/legendary wrriors can use this weapon.
I suggest that if you cannot kill the enemey in one light attack, use heavy attacks until it's dead. Against bosses, use only the most powerful attack you can possibly muster.
i can hit 300's with my SOUL EATER
If your character has the ability to cast s/d j/z this helps and depending your ata isnt awful go reg, heavy,heavy with hits.

now thats not true
which is going to do more damge- miss, 200 200 or 100,200,200.
i say, depending on the special, either n-n-h if you have low acc (i do that in ruins cos the enemies have tons of evp on multi) n,h,h, if you have good acc, or n-h-s if you have really good acc.

well, i usually use n-h-h. i use normal first to strike quickly and while the enemy is stunned i lay two hard attacks to accumilate damage.
