Well, pso2s updates for this month are awesome! i'll do a short version till i'm at home (3ds typing sucks).

New costumes! bikinis for the girls, swimming trunks for guys. rubber ring accessorys aswell.

New weapons! one being a giant "space tuna" - more to be announced soon.

New field "the floating continent" with more drops and pso goodness.

New enemys! The 'Crystal ice dragon' found as a boss in the new field. a forest version of the tundra boss is also coming. In addition, summer rare rappys will make an appearance dropping summer only items (who'd of thought?)

i'll get more info out when i can.

  PSO 2 hacked
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 12-07-2012, 12:43 PM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (13)

Yes, there have been ppl cheating here and there, broomop is an example, but very recently someone or a group of ppl decided to go further and made all npcs in the game room unaccessible by making them float in the air (Ship02), since you can never jump that high then you can never talk to them.

Sega already said to be investigating the issue and that no personal info was stolen.
They even state that the users that caused this speaked english and that they were expression their hate because PSO2 doesn't have global servers.

Some japanese players decided to make some chat avaiable to the public, wich may help identify who was the blame

If you saw this issue and know who did it, or if you saw other infractions then you can report the users here.

sega Wrote:We are aware of certain block in Ship 2 having NPC maliciously misplaced, and are working on a counter measure, we apologize for the inconvience

We are still investigating the NPC positon change, there is no threat to your ingame data or personal information, please don't worry.

PSA on Malicious Account activity
75 Account have been banned since 06/21~07/12 due to RMT, or other Term of Service violation, Sega takes these violation very seriously, and will deal with them strictly.

  PSO V2 > Quest > Unusual treesome 9
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 24-05-2012, 02:27 PM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (2)

Info:
This quest is avaiable for testing on Vega only (sylverant server), in the quest selection there will be a test section with this quest only.
I encourage ppl to test the quest and post any bugs that you may find, the quest can be completed but i can't say for sure that everything will work.
The quest was made originaly by SEGA and was made playable by CBNJ (aka Cyborg Ninja).
The quest itself received some modifications so it doesn't crash users when using some features, so it's not 100% exactly the same and the quest ain't finished at 100% either, for now it's playable and that's alot.
For example, for now there isn't any description in the quest, that's also one of the reasons why i'm saying here what you have to do.

The quest is a 2 player quest, meaning you cannot do it alone, so make sure you have someone at your side, not only 2 players make the warps work, but another player is also required to help you reach certain rooms.

Long short story a group of 3 rappies need you to find fuel for their rocket so they can fly, this fuel is placed in forest 2, caves 3 and mines 1.
The more fuel you gather, the different will be the ending, there are 4 endings and i might do a youtube video on it, it's not every day i see
rappies flying
This is one of the best quests i have ever seen, it's not boring in anyway, the rooms with fences are simple and challenging at the same time because there might be enemies to stop you, you can beat the rooms in so many ways, giving this quest a random effect, especially because you're playing with someone else.
The strategy for this "random effect" is simple, instead of a wave with 10 enemies, we get 10 waves with 1 enemy, so each enemy killed will make another wave come, this may mean that there are no stops in the fighting and even beeing prepared for the room will not help you, especially because you don't know what your teammate will kill 1st.
You have 3 different areas and you do not always fight to get into the next room, so do not expect lot's and lot's of enemies in 2 rooms like you see in some quests.

Some rooms contain a quiz of some sort in order to access the fuel, a question is made to both players and both must give the same answer, you can retry as many times as you want.

Quest can be finished with only 2 fuels (wich will give you an ending nontheless)

Quest has some rewards at the end, however, the usage in any way is not alowed in legit marked games (for now), still, the items gained are not broken or anything, there are other quests that give out the exact same items, but for legit purposes, use other quests to gain the items.
You can always drop the items at the end if you do not want them.
You can use and abuse this quest to gain exp because there aren't that many enemies to fight, so i'm sure when it comes to leveling you will find normal gameplay alot better for that effect.

Frequently asked questions:
Q: so are all the enemies packed into one room? i need to lvl up fast
A: no, they exist in all 3 areas and there aren't many

Q: Does this quest has a super secret to obtain a really great item?
A: no

Q: Is there a hidden rappy in forest that gives you red ring?
A: no

Q: Does falz give you red ring?
A: No falz, no red ring

Q: Do we get a double cannon at the end of the quest for beating the quest without losing HP?
A: no

Q: does this quest release anything that you cannot obtain?
A: no

Q: so what's the use of this quest if i can't fast level or gain unobtainables?
A: Fun, but remember this quest is for testing atm

Q: Are you sure about that unobtainables thing?
A: yes

Q: Lot's of meseta as a reward?
A: no

Q: Are there 5 vol opts in this quest?
A: no vol opt at all

Q: Are the puzzles really hard to do?, if so, do we get anything for beating them at the speed of light?
A: They are very simple to do, no rewards.

Screens:
(ignore the hallorappy, i had the model changed Tongue)

Despite beeing able to kill anything with my test char, when it came to testing the fences quizes i needed an extra char.
note that this screen wasn't taken in a sylverant server (sylverant server doesn't alow 2 chars from the same player to be in the server at the same time)

  PSO ver.2 (pc) EBN series
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 22-05-2012, 11:55 AM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

EBN series

Info:
This is a graphical mod that applies a filter on the game that is beeing run, it applies several things PSO does not have, being one the bloom effect, like everyone, you will either like it, or hate it, PSO will look shiny but beeing able to read chat bubles would be nice, the EP3 lobby i made has lot's of white, whith this mod i could barely see anything in the lobby

Now there are good news, this mod can be activated and deactivated while you're playing, all it requires is a combination of keys (shift + F12)
Also, this contains a .ini file with all the options that can be enabled and disabled, so you are free to tweak the bloom and other effects to fit your taste.
If you do make a modified .ini and you like it, then share it so we can all see and use it.
This has been avaiable for ages but only now i found one that works, i saw the post that GAMA did at another forum and not only works with PSO BB, it also works with PSO Ver.2
This can be used on just about any game, not just PSO v2

System Requirements:
Videocardwith support of Shader Model2.0 or better. Videocards in the list below may fit:
GeForce 6100, 6150, 6200, 6600, 6800, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950, 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800, 9600, 9800;
Radeon 9500, 9550, 9600, 9700, 9800, 300, 600, 700, 800, 850, 1300, 1600, 1800, 1900, 1950, 2400, 2600, 2900, 3850, 3870.
I can't guarantee that mod will work on all of them by many reasons (different drivers, hardware reduced versions and just because not tested myself). ENBSeries (current version) will not run at all or will not work properly if hardware by any reason not support minimal requirements of the mod. Videocards with lower shader versions capable to work in theory, but they are too slow, no sense. Videocards of new generation (DirectX10 compatible) in common cases works much faster in this mod, than their performance equivalents in DirectX9 games.
The requirements to videomemory size are very high, depends from screen resolution and antialiasing, for example without antialiasing in a mode 1024*768 it cost 64 Mb of videomemory, and for 1280*1024 106 Mb are necessary. Operative memory and processor play an insignificant role, though all should be balanced.

However, PSO v2 can't use all the effects, so bloom is not very demanding.

Instalation:
Simply drop the files in the same directory as the game exe file, once you load pso.exe some green text will apear at the corner, telling you it's active, to activate the effects press Shift + F12, same combination to deactivate it.

Download:
This download is my own personal bloom, not to intensive but still there, providing a great effect under any circunstances
https://mega.co.nz/#!vUxhDD5C!OosA5RjI6J...z_yKsIATdE

This download may be temporary as some ppl are working on a more recent version of this, wich may include some tweaks to the effects, still, this is a valid download

PSO v2 > PSU Forest skin (port)
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 22-05-2012, 11:54 AM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

I really enjoyed one skin i saw for PSO BB, i took it and ported it into v2, in the process i left some things unchanged, i upgraded some textures and some are even better then the original textures.
The basic textures such as grass, ground and rock are exactly the same, credits to Krony for getting them, when it comes to mixtures and transitions i made changes of my own, they are very similar but not 100% equal.
Any bugs reported or recomendations are welcomed.
Replaces normal/hard/veryhard forest

- Krony

Instalation:
- Backup the originals just in case you want to switch back
- Simply drop the files into "....\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO\SCENE"

  PSO v2 > Infected Caves 2 (port)

Another port i did, like the previous one i decided to change things to my own taste, so certain transitions and textures are different, but the general idea is the same, i also changed some illumination files because i didn't like the green colored areas.
A nice skin made by Giggity, the purple and blue fauna fits perfectly in the dark rocks that exist in this area.
Replaces Ultimate Caves 2.

  PSO v2 > Freeze skin
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 22-05-2012, 11:50 AM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

I have seen the GC version of it and quite franqly i hated it, it looked like transparent glass with some white powder on top.
The PC version is not exactly the same as the DC version, it's fully opaque wich makes it horrible.
There have been a few mods with a fix for this, making it look like the DC one, more specificly it adds transparency.
Then i started to think, why would i want some transparent blue ice in the 1st place.
Why is the freeze blue anyway?

So since all versions suck (atleast to me) i decided to make my own freeze, nice color, nice patern, increased resolution and transparency.
I like it so why not share it.

Frozzen Cyan Mines

Made this originaly as a request to a user at Eden pso bb server and never crossed my mind to port it to v2.
Now i decided to do it.
It's pretty much the same deal (cyan mines) but contains a makeover on nearly all textures.
Hope you like it.
