| PSO V2 (pc) > Menu background, i accept requests |

Menu Backgrounds
Info:
I have had this for some time and even tought of making several backgrounds available (only 1 didn't seem right), but there was a problem, few backgrounds would limit choice and lot's of backgrounds would result in a large file download only to pick 1 background, not to mention the task is boring and i'm not in the mood to make all the area screenshots into backgrounds, it would take a lot of time.
So my idea is this, i make the one i'm using available and then i take requests of the ones ppl actually want, this way what i make will possibly be used, wich is way more satisfying.
A note on requests, try not to request very bright images, the char selection screen uses white colored font and some bright header wich can be difficult to read.
You can request any image i guess, provide a link to it if i don't have it.
I personally used a ruins background, if you want to check other available area backgrounds then you can visit my Deviant art page gallery:
http://kireekpso.deviantart.com/gallery/ (top quality screenshots)
Keep in mind PSO v2 limited res will make the image lose graphical detail.
This is a very simple procedure, but i am aware not everyone knows the tools, the files or how to mess with image editing programs to achieve this, sometimes even aligning the images may be problematic because the background is composed by several tiny images that need to be in the correct position.
This way you can imagine your background and you can leave the rest with me, i'm also interested in seeing what others will pick, who knows, maybe i'll pick it as my background.

Some of you might not know but PSO uses some files or textures to present the most varied effects in pso, for example when you equip a rare armor or when you cast a tech, all those sparkles and lights are stored and controled by some files
By changing any of these, you will get different effects
I'm here to show you 2 that actually are great to see and try.
This particle entry file modified by Aurelli changes what particles/textures are used and how are they used, many armor effects, techs and some other things will be different with this file.
If you do not like how deband is but you like everything else, simply request and aurelli will post a modified file with that.
On the other hand we have the textures files, i ported over an old version that Gama did for PSO BB, when a more recent one is finished i'll update.
Credits go to Gama, afterall, he made the textures.
This file, changes the small textures to similar textures with a higher resolution, this is why the file is much bigger then the one pso uses by default
EDIT: updated some textures with some of my creations, they look exactly the same but were given a higher resolution and a filter to make them smoother.
I also updated the file to be a compressed zip to reduce download time
Download for both files: http://www.2shared.com/file/c0gPiK9b/Particles.html
2 folders, 1 with the effects texture and another one with 3 folders, each containing a different particle file.
So, you have 4 ways of using the effects, either you use the ones that come with the instalation, you install Aurelli's file, you install Gama's file or you use both and have at the same time crazy effects and good looking textures.
I can't take screenshots of every single thing that uses these effects.
Screenshots oudated
Movies:
Aurelli mod, it's amazing what a small file can do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHRTI5q_NRk
Instalation:
- Please backup the original files incase you don't like either of them.
- To install, simply drop these files into ...\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO
Info:
- weapons, monsters, techs do not become stronger or weaker with any of these files, this is merely a visual change.
- Other players will not be able to see these modifications unless they are using them too, you may say your foie looks great, but for everyone else, it will look the same.
- Both these files will demand more resources from your PC, so if you can barely run PSO then these files are not recomended, one uses higher resolution textures and the other places more textures on screen, it may not seem much, but 4 players with shifta and deband when you're using Aurelli pack may make the game slow down when all 8 effects (2 for char) hit the screen at the same time.
- not recomended to port into a pso ver.2 disk for dreamcast, sega already removed some effects from shifta and deband when they made v2, these are much more intensive then v1 effects.

| PSO v2 (pc) > Misc ending |

Info:
It seems for some reason this ending is not included into PSO PC so i made the ending available by replacing the ultimate ending (the one that shows red ring rico) with the misc one available on dreamcast.
Images are in the same order as the original dreamcast ending
Download:
http://www.univers-ps.com/psobb/skin/tel...?l=876&t=d
Installation:
Replace ed_512kabe_AB_UL.prs in .....\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO with the one in the download.
Backup the original incase you want to revert back.
I also have the intention of releasing a custom ending later.

Info:
This is an area based on the last misc ending image, i altered a few things before releasing the skin to make it a bit more realistic.
One thing i tried was to make the illumination near black, but this affects the monument and a dark one isn't apealing, then i tried and used some really big clouds, but the game doesn't use them properly and it had the same problem as before, the monument was still dark.
Then i tought of darkening all textures exept the ones from the monument, the illumination is still bright but it fits perfectly with the dark textures.
The sky and clouds are high res so the extra detail is nice, unfortunatly there are some issues i can't overcome:
- The sky is contantly rotating, with a blue sky it's ok, but this one has stars, in real life the sky doesn't rotate like this, but it's still great to see.
- PSO v2 makes some compression when using the textures, i used the best i could, a .pvr image with rgb at 565 (more colors then 444 or 555) but i still get layers in the clouds, the gradients are so smooth that more colors are required, with limited colors pso makes things lose some quality.
It's still great to see and it's barely visible, but it's there.
Map doesn't contain shadows from clouds, doesn't contain an extra set of clouds like in the original map and doesn't have the sun, it's as close as i could get regarding the ending image.
Only this part of the arena is affected, falz is still the same and so are the areas where you fight him
Download:

Installation:
Backup the originals
Just place the 2 files in the download in .....\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO\SCENE

Just been looking at the latest PSO2 stuff and found this article.
Gamespot Wrote:The last time gamers heard news about Phantasy Star Online 2 was back at the Tokyo Game Show 2011. Sega recently announced that the sequel to Phantasy Star Online will adopt a free-to-play business model.
According to Famitsu, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game will be using an item transaction system, so players will need to pay money for items or certain benefits to speed up level grinding. In addition, Sega announced that the game will be out on iOS and Android. Previously, the game was confirmed for the PC and the PS Vita platform, with the latter being announced early this month.
Im concerned whether or not the Smartphone versions are going to be lacking in features, etc, due to being essentially a mobile game :/
