  PSO v2 > PSO2 Ultimate Forest 1 skin
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 04-02-2013, 12:57 AM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

Info:
Another port for v2 with a small difference, the skin for blueburst isn’t quite ready and Forest 2 is unfinished, but that doesn’t stop me from releasing a forest 1 skin for ultimate.I pretty much changed all the textures and some of them i did them myself, the main issue was that nearly all the textures were at half res compared with the default ones that come with PSO, that didn’t make the skin look bad, it was quite the opposite, however i felt the need to make the textures at least at the same size as the default ones, so i pasted textures together in order to make one big one.
I fixed some problems with leaves and i used a higher res image on a light source.

So yes the skin isn’t exactly a copy and paste from the blueburst skin, you may notice a few differences if you play both versions side by side, from the leaves, the rocks and most noticeable the texture transitions.

I may update the skin with a Forest 2 skin if it gets finished

Valorous Vanguard - Love is in the air!
Posted by: dnd - 28-01-2013, 06:57 AM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (2)

All-right, so the second part was added by me but hey, its true :p

The new event/patch/expansion (I don't even know what to call these nowdays) for pso2 landed on the 23rd of this month, the main features being:

Valentine lobby, complete with many lovehearts/teddy bears AND the pso1&2 valentine lobby music Picture here
Class level raised to lv55!
Love rappies!
Love rappy costume, love rappy themed weapons (Seen here)
Tons more other costumes, a return of the old 'Toy hammer' from lv46+ love rappys aswell (Both of which can be seen here - which i got both on the first day Confused)
A new Emergency quest 'Where's the chocolate' - this involves running around the caves level (which is shaped into a heart, d'awww) saving various female NPC's from emergency code, which escalates into saving the cake sisters at the end.
A new time attack quest, taking place on planet naberius (Forest/tundra/ruins) - unlike the others which have afew puzzles/traps, this one is just a pure killing vest, reminds me of the old maximum attack quests Big Grin.
Advance quests land in part two of this update, of which little infomation is known.

Stuff that i missed out from the last update, because :lazy: and :Forgetful: so my bad :3.

Part 3 of the last patch brought us the darkers den and code: clone.

Darkers den:

To get into the darkers den (or, flag yourself for abuction) you need to jump through the following hoops: Firstly, get a message from koffee about the darkers kidnapping 'elite' arks members. Secondly, get yourself a dark falz or falz Hunar kill (not confirmed, but data suggests this to be true). Thirdly, clear every very hard TA quest at least one. Finally, s-rank any TA 6-times then run to the TA gate and hope the darkers assault and make your campship crash in the den, only to awake to a scrambled message from the arks ship and this site......

once your in, thats it, you have an hour to clear the den, or retire back to the arks ship in shameful defeat (Just kidding). You cant go back to the campship to restock either, because the darkers made it crash, so your limited to 5 revives per person, lucky they are an AOE ^_^;

The spawns are.. insane, for once it actually feels like a real challenge - you find the hardest bosses inside (Triple boosted rare darker bosses, with, seemingly, a million hp+) with all their lovely grunt type spawns. It really is hard to get the picture across, but imagine phantasmal world 3 style maps, but in pso2, now add bosses that will one-shot you without mercy (or hit 700+). Combine that all at once and you have this quest.

After you do all that and clear it, you get cloned! for afew days, or until you kill it enough

Back when i did some credits edits i only cared for the visual part like the background or the images displayed, but in order to do something special for a friend i tought of changing the actual credit text, easier said then done, i didn’t knew how did the credits behaved so a trivial edit was more difficult than it seemed. I asked for help and Tofuman explained to me how credits worked and what was required to make them work and function properly, problem was that it required time even for the most simple of edits, something wrong would in the worst situation lead to a crash, in wich required you to look everything once more.

To simplify the hard part, tofuman created a text editor that is able to pick up the credits file and display it in a much simple way, it also enables you to save the file so it will work with PSO, you can use this for many different ends.

Before you download and go straight to edit titles and names there are a few things to have in mind, and some of them aren’t easy to detect:

Regular text is a title, this means it uses nearly all the possible characters, i can’t say you can use them all but the majority of the font can be used, it uses the file texttex_e.pvm, in my case it uses this font

Names are introduced by inserting “#” before the name, the name can only accept caps and a few other characters, numbers for example are limited to “0,1,2″ as they are the only ones necessary to represent the year 2000 and 2001, if you want to add the number 3 to represent 2013 then you need to replace another character like the “,” in the texture file and then type “201,” in the editor
The file it uses is the ed128_font.prs

At the end of the file you will find a “*”, this determines when the credits end and will select the last 8 lines (blank spaces included) that will be displayed at the end, no further text will appear.
Keep in mind that the ending has 2 parts, one with the red ring spinning and another one with a sequence of images, you can never end the credits before the 2nd part, only when the 2nd part has begun can you end the credits, you can end the credits at anytime and even before the transition, but once the 2nd part begins then you will see 1 image at most, after that the credits will fade into black.

Last but not least is a character in the middle of the credits, this character cannot be removed otherwise the credits crash, so make sure to include it somewhere in the credits, it will not appear as text, it just needs to be in the editor. To find the character, go to “system r&d dept.” section and check the name “#YUKI■@YAMANAKA”
The symbol is the square looking one, you can delete the “@” and the rest of the name, but leave the “■”
If you delete and you are unable to revert back then reload the file and start over, the other option is to add the symbol’s hex code in the credits, wich will most likely alter many other things wich will also need to be checked manually, defeating the purpose of the editor and raising the chances of mistakes wich will lead to crashes.

I haven’t tested all the possibilities like using numbers, not using the “*” at the end, how long can the credits last, can we add more images to the ending,…..
Any Bugs you may find please contact tofuman at PSO eden server or contact me if you are unable to contact him, i will point him any bugs anyone finds.

The download also contains the original PSO v2 ending credits, any problem and you can just switch back.

Hello,

Did anyone save a copy of decswxaqz's Ep1 C-mode guide from this site they can share? I've suddenly started c-moding again and this was the site with the most useful ever maps.

I've had a search on Wayback Machine, but it only archived the text and just one image:

Please help, and thanks in advance!

  The Place Where Darkness Gathers
Posted by: dnd - 26-11-2012, 11:11 PM - Forum: Lobby - Replies (5)

Spooky~
New thread, new update and well, a big boss and download await Cool

The Dark Falz battle: he’s planet sized, each ship fights a section of the body, then in stage 2 you fight his main body. It appears as an emergency quest.

This is all that's known of the fight so far. its not known if all the ships would work together for stage one and two, or when stage two hits you stay on your own little ships group and not have a huge 120 person fight (Although, that'd be awesome.. and harsh on both the servers and your computer).

Weapon Potential Abilities:

A new feature for December aswell, Certain weapons have hidden special abilities. (At this time, its not known if it applys to all weapons, or just a selection) basically, you grind a weapon to +10 and if it has a special ability, a new option will unlock in the item lab. This then (if you choose) will reset the grind level back to +0, but unlocks level one of the special ability. The only one that's been announced increases just attack (Read: Heavy attack from psogc/bb) damage by 3%. At the moment, it appears you don't have an upper limit to the level of the ability - but I imagine it will cap at lv5 (as other ability's are)

Grinding an 8star weapon to +10 is a traumatic experience alone, one I've not even gotten yet in ~600 hours playtime, so this is an.. interesting addition if its only for afew specific weapons. Imho not worth the time spent grinding to +10 again Tongue

As always, will bring more news when its released. I expect the first part of the update to land in 9 days, on the 5th of December with a tasty 4gb download o.o'

Edit: Some more infos!

St.rappys/Christmas lobby picture/Christmas limited time emergency code 'Merry Christmas on Ice!' (Battle to the end of tundra to protect the cake sisters!)

  PSO v2 > PSO2 Font Style
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 03-11-2012, 05:50 PM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

Info:
Another port, this font was actually easier to do than the Lynx font, only required a few changes after the 1st attempt.
After seeing echelon font i quickly made a port of it, but the majority of the font wasn't done, PSO BB barely makes any use of the font, it's mostly for things such as damage values, "HP", "TP", "EXP",.....
This means that a direct port to v2 wouldn't work that well, i asked echelon for the files and while it wasn't exactly what i wanted, the font was partially done, so i took the style and made the remaining letters and symbols.
I don't know if PSO2 uses this font, but it's similar on many aspects, the majority of the font was hand drawn, pixel by pixel.
Since what i got was a file with everything in just 1 layer, i had to extract the numbers somehow, so i used the image and the alpha (since selecting the numbers didn't work well), from that point forward since i was manipulating not only the layers but also the color layers, then i decided to do a .pvr image, wich outputs a superior graphical quality.
This means this is the 2nd font in .pvr available (being the 1st the one made by sega), while the other fonts could have been done in .pvr, i never really felt the need to do it and all due honesty, this one didn't either, it was a matter of preference.

Font has a light cyan color and a thin blue glow, it wasn't made for light backgrounds, if your goal is to read someone's name in the lobby then please pick another font, this font makes names hard to read.
Changed "/" to match the "\"

PSO v2 > Dark falz reskin (high res port)
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 03-11-2012, 01:48 PM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

Info:
I was surprised, i didn't expect the port to work on my 1st try, but it did, many falz textures are in a higher res and the remaining ones have a nice retexture that don't go far from the original falz look.
Looks good so i decided to port it to PSO v2

PSO BB > Nighttime Paradise (port)
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 27-10-2012, 12:11 PM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

Info:
Pretty much the same skin i did for v2, one texture in the background is unaffected by texture editing, all the blackness is converted into grey wich kinda ruins the atmosphere, nonetheless it's still a nice skin to try out.
Like on the v2 skin the sky is high res and the clouds have been improved.

Known problems:
- sky rotates
- greyish texture in the back
- In ultimate difficulty the sun appears

Installation:

Simply drop the files in the following directory

PSO v2 > PSO2 Rappy (high res port)
Posted by: K_I_R_E_E_K - 22-10-2012, 09:06 PM - Forum: Lobby - No Replies

Echelon finally released the files and i went straight to making a port of it, i also added the blue rappy as the rare rappy, it's the same skin but with light blue instead.
It's not a huge difference but i enjoy the new skin.
There are a few texturing problems but they are small and nearly invisible in normal gameplay.

Credits:

Installation:

- Individual installation
Unlike other files, this one needs to be placed into several locations, more specifically inside 2 files.
You need a GSL update: http://psodev.free.fr/outilPSO/GSL/GSLUpdater.rar

Open the program and locate the GSL files in the pso directory (gsl_forest01.gsl and gsl_forest02.gsl)
X:\xxxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO

Locate the files and make sure they are not as read only

Start by opening one of them "file > open", you will see a list of files that these GSL files have, locate and select "bm_ene_lappy.bml"
Select "Content" and then "import"
Grab the file you downloaded
Select "File" and then "save" with the same name
Repeat the process for gsl_forest02.gsl

Start by opening one of them "file > open", you will see a list of files that these GSL files have, locate and select "re3_b_lappy_base_ao.pvm" (rare rappy)
Select "Content" and then "import"
Grab the file you downloaded
Select "File" and then "save" with the same name
Repeat the process for gsl_forest02.gsl

- By copying
If you do not desire to mess with the gsl files and want just a copy and paste procedure then use this.
Select the gsl files and replace the files in X:\xxxxxxxxxx\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO
Keep in mind these gsl files already contain a modification regarding the blood, if you do not wish to have the blood i provided in another skin mod then use the individual file installation method
