The Thing which Destroys History, the November update has been revealed, with a couple of features (I much prefer the topic titles name for the update, which is why its there :p)
Darkers den/ruins will be playable, complete with a new boss, with part one of this release (7th or 14th of November I'm guessing). I've been reading that the few lucky people who've played this area have found it very hard and a nice step up in difficulty from the previous areas. How it gets released, we'll have to see (Orignally - Tundra, mines and floating continent where hard-mode only when they first launched. We'll have to wait and see if darkers den is very hard only and yes, I know that image shows lv30 [Normal mode] but this is sega and it means nothing)
![[Image: darkersden.jpg]](http://imageshack.us/a/img6/9444/darkersden.jpg)
The new boss - Zeshreida
![[Image: alligatorsnapper.png]](http://imageshack.us/a/img259/5946/alligatorsnapper.png)
Now, for other news:
They are implementing a new system after you hit the level cap called 'Expedition cube' (Or just excube for short). This new system allows you to spend exp you gained after the cap on new items, such as mag devices, 10 star slot units and much more. Two items that have been revealed are “PM Device / Ajax” and “Rear / Rappy Feather”
A photon drop trader is (finally!) being added - allowing you to trade your mass collection (I have 462 of them -.-) of PD's for items/units/weapons. More information in this will be released soon, ill update when I hear more.
Note: I'm not sure if PM Device = partner machinery device, so it changes your mag into one from PSU when used. Its a pretty safe assumption, but don't hold out for it - If I hear for sure that it is, then you'll know for sure that it is :p

Octobers update deserves a flashy title, because, wow, its like, huge....
Features:
Lv50 level cap (No more exp full for awhile, yay)
Very hard mode unlocked + 'rare' boss spawns only on this difficulty (King vardha, oh boy)
2 new PA's per weapon class, 1 new tech per element
Many, many new weapons added (more on this below)
New field called 'Darkers Den' and no, its not psogc/bb ruins (Boooo) think PSZ ruins
Tons new costumes, but nothing new there
Halloween lobby and possibly halo rappys aswell (like in summer)
Subclasses! (more below aswell)
New weapons:
Well, the first 10 star rare weapons and 6(?) star common weapons are being added some point during October, alot of old weapons are being put in, at some point, they include.
Demo comet, imperial pick, Berdysh, guld milla, Yas 9k, Frozen shooter, Mahu, Demonic fork, cadacus, Prophets of Motav, Elysion, Sting tip, Silence claw, Girasole, windmill and L&K 14 combats.
Most retain their old weapon classes, however some appear grouped with others (Frozen shooter for one - assault rifle)... sad to say, but the demo comet was my first ult mode pso drop and I can only imagine how awesome it will be in pso2 - I will be buying/finding one asap x_x
Subclasses:
Probably the biggest part of the update and the main update I've been looking forward to since the game launched...
To keep it simple - the subclass system allows you to effectively be two classes at once. You can use the subclass’ photon arts, technics, and skills but there’s a catch. You can only use your main class’ weapon categories.
In addition to this, whatever subclass you pick provides 20% of its base stats as a boost to your main class (excluding pp?). Which to be fair, isnt a great deal in terms of overall boosts, as seen below: (bare in mind, im running 1388 s-atk at max and that's with a weakish weapon, meh ability's and ofc, newman base atp)
![[Image: hunterstats.jpg]](http://imageshack.us/a/img411/1066/hunterstats.jpg)
Imo, the biggest advantage to the whole subclass thing is enabling non-force classes to cast techs. For sure i will be a fighter main class, with the techer sub-class, for quite a simple and effective reason...
Infinite shifta for fighter for soloing - instead of just 5 per run (items), in addition, techers can get up to a 10% boost (29% atp rise, iirc) and up to 10% crit buff for shifta. The same for deband (But 10% flat damage reduction, instead of the crit buff) - restas to save on items during exceedingly damage heavy boss fights (And they will heal alot, hail newman mst \o/).
Personally, i cant wait for this to happen, the only other update im hyped for is the dark falz update, comming soon

The 1st font is a port from the one made for PSO BB, i liked the change so i made it available for PSO v2
Credits:
Tamashii for making the font available for PSO BlueBurst
Info:
File contains 2 folders of the same font skin.
You need to pick one that you like, the âHigh resâ folder contains a direct port of the skin made, meaning itâs at a higher res then the default game font but you can only see the changes in some aspects, since PSO v2 doesnât have any high-resolution options then i made another file inside âregular resâ, this one contains the font skin at the same res of the original pso font.
The differences are minimal between the 2, but they do exist
Installation:
replace the file texttex_e.pvm in â¦â¦.\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO with the one provided in one of the folders.
Download:
http://www.univers-ps.com/psobb/skin/tel...?l=881&t=d
Screenshot:
http://www.univers-ps.com/psobb/skin/ima..._00881.png
This 2nd font is one i made recently
Info:
Then i did one of my own, i grabbed a random one from the web named lynx and made it available for PSO v2, i wanted something readable but cool nonetheless, i say this because one of the fonts i will port in the future will be the one echelon made for his PSO2 skin mod and as far as i can say is that the font itself makes names really hard to read, but the font itself and the numbers look really nice.
I went with that idea but decided to make the font i ported readable by adding emboss, a black line would also be nice, but that increases the font size and i wasnât in the mood to resize all letters into a smaller one just to add a black line around them, emboss was fine.
The font is high res btw.
Installation:
replace the file texttex_e.pvm in â¦â¦.\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnline\Media\PSO with the one provided in the folder. Either that or just grab the media folder and place into the PhantasyStarOnline folder.

Hello all, some news about the September update, new classes and weapon types
New Class: Fighter (ファイター
To unlock this class you must be level 30 in Hunter, they excel at lightweight weapons.
Equipable weapons:
Double Sabers (New)
Twin Dagger (New)
Knuckle (New)
Gunslash
Any other weapons they can equip at this point are unknown.
New Class: Gunner (ガンナー
To unlock this class you must be level 30 in Ranger, it has a class skill called âChain Triggerâ that boosts damage
Equipable weapons:
Twin Machine Gun (New - think old mechguns from psogc, I'm guessing anyway)
Gunslash
Any other weapons they can equip at this point are unknown.
New Class: Techer (テクター
To unlock this class you must be level 30 in Force, this class is intended for you to battle on the front-lines.
They have access to wind, light, and dark technics. (Forces have light offensive magic already - Its safe to assume this class has a mastery branch for light in the skill tree)
Any other technics are unknown.
Equipable weapons:
Wand (New)
Gunslash
Any other weapons they can equip at this point are unknown.
New Weapon info:
Knuckles:
Knuckles can be used by Fighters, any other classes are unknown at this point.
Their extra action icon is original, different from the shield icon.
They have a âHeat Gaugeâ type gear that increases and decreases.
(I think Heat Gauge is just a fancy way of saying it fills up and depletes whether it is on its own or through damage, like Sword Gear.)
Double Saber:
Double sabers can be used by Fighters, any other classes are unknown at this point.
Their extra action icon is original, different from the shield icon.
Their 'gear' appears to work similar to wired lances (consumes 1 bar for 30% increased PA damage, 5-6 hits to charge one bar, max of 3 stored, doesn't decrease over time)
Twin Dagger:
Twin Daggers can be used by Fighters, any other classes are unknown at this point.
Gear and extra action details are unknown.
Twin Machine Guns:
Twin Machine guns can be used by Gunners, any other classes are unknown at this point.
Twin Machine Guns have a âHeat Gaugeâ type gear.
When you use gear, your attack power increases.
When you receive damage, the gear decreases.
Extra action icon is original, different from the back palette icon.
Wands
Wands can be used by Techers, any other classes are unknown at this point
Wands even have âHeat Gaugeâ type gear, but their effects are unknown.
They have a back palette icon, it seems to be similar to Rods.
Looking at this info, it appears (at least) the fighter class is dropping all defences to be quick and nimble, but very punishing if you actually get hit, which should make it fun to play when tired. Although you try playing a Newman hunter with fury stance and tell me its not already over punishing.....
Techers look fun, a front-line force with (I assume) more defence. Ill be sure to be Leveling my Newman's force class to 30 before this lands.
Thoughts?

After Gameguard was updated on Monday, August 13th, players have reported that the game no longer starts, the mouse and keyboard no longer work properly, and how there are various major bugs outside of the game.
Sega would like to collect data related to this problem in order to investigate the cause of this malfunction. Please kindly send this information outlined below.
In your installation directory, look for a folder called âGameGuardâ:
- Attach all .erl extension files and Dxdiag file. (You can generate a PSO2 Dxdiag file in the settings menu in the launcher.)
- Compress all of these files into one file that takes up to 5MB of space.
- Within the email write about the 「ご利用のセキュリティソフト」(Security Software) you use and the「不具合詳細」(Bugs) youâve noted.
- Send an email to [email protected]
This email is only used for collecting information about this GameGuard update and can not reply to any inquiries.
Based on Twitter and BBS chatter the following issues have been reported by players:
- Your copy of Windows is no longer Genuine.
- Blue Screens of Death on Game Start-up
- Firefox and Chrome freezing.
- Firefox freezing on pages that require Flash.
- Keyboards malfunction.
- Various essential Windows processes no longer responding.
While in some cases none of this happens, it seems some players are getting their very 1st blue screens. Will players be able to play PSO2 decently until the bugs are fixed? what do you think?
Poorly coded game with a general lack of security and now they resolve into using gameguard, don't get me wrong, gameguard is good, but the bluescreens are not.

August 8, 2012 from 11:00 (Wed)
Terms of Use "Phantasy Star Online 2" will be revised as follows.
The Section 8 specifies a new Article 2.
(Use of game servers) Article 2 of
this connection to the game server 8., you shall be limited to the connection from the software that is installed on the terminal exists in Japan.
It is prohibited to connect via a direct connection to Japan from abroad, and a terminal located in Japan and from outside Japan.
So now its breaking the ToS to even connect to the jap version, interesting developments, but its sega, so I'm not worried. This also existed in the closed alpha/beta testing phases but no-one was ip banned from outside of Japan
Thoughts?

Always check the original topic for the latest patch, this topic will not be updated on a daily basis.
PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2: Release version patch
Most recent version: Aug. 9, 2012
Discuss the patch in this thread here: http://psumods.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=207
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Download file, extract to your game's data\win32 directory.
By default, this will be:
32-bit: C:\Program Files\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\data\win32
64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\data\win32
If your game patches after you have copied the English patch files over, you will need to copy them over again (but don't do this after a content update, as it'll break stuff).
If you are having trouble extracting the patch to the win32 folder due to 'Access denied', run WinRAR as Administrator and navigate to the rar through that, then extract as normal.
Warning:
This is still against the ToS. While it's very unlikely you'll get banned for using it, it's still possible.
Using the <target>, <class>, <pa>, <technic>, or <area> macros will broadcast the translated message. Do not use them in public parties.
Translation notes:
We went with Dexterity/DEX instead of Ability/ABL or Skill/SKL. I felt that both of those names were ambiguous ("Ability" is a unit special that's not directly related, Skill would make it seem connected with actual skills). Qwerty suggested "Knack"/NAK, which... I can't really explain why we rejected.
The "Gulf" line of monsters has been subtly renamed. They are now Gulf, Fangulf, Gulfur, and Fangulfur, because... well... Fangulfur. Garongo is finally properly named. Big "Varder" is being called Big "Vardha" to make the reference slightly clearer.
Rewrote the mission descriptions. They were very wordy.
Xeno is now Zeno (as in Zeno's paradox). Rodio is now Rogio (as in... we have no idea, really). Maloo is now Marlu (as in the minor planetoid).
Special thanks:
scriptkiddie: Making this all possible in the first place.
Logokas and Shanic: Assistance with the actual encryption (note: for all the "wannabe programmer" talk, Shanic is an actual security professional)
Mewn, EspioKaos, Tycho, Red_Spyro: Translation.
Qwerty: Menial copy-and-paste (tons of it)
Raujinn: Delivering useless platitudes and then demanding credit for them.
