Oh that- hmm... wouldn't be TOOO hard, I mean, you just have to tell it to go through every connection/open port...

Yer, it happens mostly with Porno type websites who ask you to dial-up a special number which goes through to their tab getting them more money, but costing you more. Sometimes its about as much as £1/min!! No wonder people have phone bills in excess of £1k!

You just gotta make sure you don't get this. Make sure your number is the same when you dial-up to connect to your Internet Service Provider. They'll also make you download software without you knowing it! It'll reset your homepage, Internet Settings, it's quite annoying. Needless to say i've had 2 i think where you just go onto any kind of website and all of a sudden you're opening programs you've never even heard of before! By law though EVERYTHING has an uninstall option, it's just a matter of finding it!

Don't forget the Alt+F4 method!

Also:

If you do accidentaly click on one, it's worth getting your ISP to help you out OVER THE PHONE, to be absolutely sure.

thats horrible. I'm kind of lucky though because everytime I connect it shows what number I'm dialing

I haven't had that happen but I did have about 3 viruses that like to attack Windows XP and exploit the flaws in your system and shut down the LSASS (or whatever it is) and causes Windows to auto shutdown. I had to get Panda Activescan to remove them for me and then I had to install a security update for WinXP. All this from popups that install things that they shouldn't >:|

popups are EVIL they should be banned. no one reads them anyway

"Premium popups" - Phantom_RAcast - 10-05-2004

no, I don't think pop-ups should be banned I think spyware/adware should be banned (viruses all ready are)

yeah... for all those of you that care of whatever... most of those popus have embedded themselves on your computers, causing them to pop up again when you are connected to the internet, you can ofcourse remove them with a very good and reliable program called Ad-aware... um, I cant remember the site... I think its lavasoft.us but if you goto google.com and put in ad-aware it will be the first search result. Its free and it works WONDERS! Enjoy!

Not on my PC, I quite often do a hard drive scan for files modified by a remote location.... Takes AGES though!
