Harry Potter - Moonwraith - 19-07-2005 Heh, I'm reading the Half-Blood Prince as well, I can't wait to find out who dies (that sounded a little macabre ). Good stuff so far, though my brother has finished it already, I've only read about 400 pages.
Harry Potter - A.S. - 19-07-2005 I disapprove this topic (can I do that?). Moonwraith the n00b Wrote:I'm reading the Half-Blood Prince as well No! you too Moonwraith!? I read up too two HP books, and ended up giving them to my friends who liked reading those types of books, I don't see the hype in the book. If anyone could tell me, PLEASE go ahead. EDIT: Don't feel like posting, opinions don't help :p, I would be very surprised to see everyone like it because "it is cool" (a very basic opinion) and the general idea of HP might be half-decent to someone like me, but annoying little 9 year olds elevating the series of books detracts me from a book some people may like. Harry Potter - Double Edge - 19-07-2005 I can, A.S. It's called opinion. You're not going to like Harry Potter if you have no interest in the fantasy genre. Harry Potter - Infinite8 - 19-07-2005 I love fantasy, but I too don't like the HP books, never even gave them a chance... hrmm.. I thought about reading them once... but ya know, I'd rather stick with the Ender's game series by Orson Scott Card... Harry Potter - Double Edge - 20-07-2005 While I admit that there are some people, particularily younger (ie. 12 year-olds or younger) ones that celebrate Harry Potter so strongly and much that they dress up as the characters, etc.; not all people are like that. Just because you enjoy Harry Potter doesn't necessarily mean you like dressing up as the depicted characters. As one of my favorite talk-show hosts, Conan O'Brien said a couple days back, Harry Potter fans dress up and everything, which even makes Star Wars fans say, "what nerds" (or at least somewhere along those lines).
Harry Potter - Legato2471 - 20-07-2005 Why read when you can ask a friend what happens? xD Besides, there will be movies! It'll take 2 hours, best part... no reading. Harry Potter - Sebastian - 20-07-2005 Double Edge Wrote:mua ha ha ha ha. Oh yes, Umbridge, she's mentioned a couple times in Book 6 thus far. its my favorite person that dies :'( . i was ticked off when i read that... I can tell someone's never read a book longer than 100 pages.
Harry Potter - Sebastian - 20-07-2005 i dont like the movies much they make stuff different then the way i imagined it and it does not include everything in the book. Harry Potter - Double Edge - 20-07-2005 Well if each movie included everything in the book, each movie would be several hours longer. And if you think that the Harry Potter movies would be long if they included all of the book content, imagine how much longer the LotR movies would be. :O |
