Do rares drop more often in online than offline?

Seems that way, at least to me. I have a lvl 57 Skyly HUmar who recently beat Very Hard (Ultimate is impossible so I guess I'm going to have to do VH Ruins runs until I puke before I can tackle it) and I've gotten very few special weapons drops. In about 3 weeks time I've gotten a few Flowens Swords, one DB swords, a few Last Survivors, and two Dragon Slayers. Drops were relatively decent going through VH, until this week when I beat it. Now I'm getting almost no rare drops at all (got one more Last Survivor in one week's time) after doing many runs through the VH levels, and its getting to be quite frustrating.

Here's the thing though. My copy of it is one that my friend gave to me after he quit playing a while back. Often times he would play online but solo. I distinctly remember him getting at oodles of rare drops from doing VH runs on his HUmar of similar level. I'd do online myself to see but I lack a broadband adapter for my GC at the moment. Which leads me to wonder, are rare drops more common on online games than offline games? If so, isn't that really unfair?

thay seem to but mobs are stronger (on VH dimenian offline has 270 hp but online has 344 hp)

Errrm...you mean normal diff, right? Dimenian on VH has at least 900 HP offline.

If its true though, I think its really unfair that people who play online get more rares than those who play offline (whether or not they simply can't, or want to play in a "save file corrupt" free environment).

The drops are absolutely the same, it's just that there are more monsters online, especially in some quests.
