Ok people, just seen a good post on the official PSOBB boards, and this is what I have found...
Centurion/Ability does indeed raise every stat other than ATA by 30, while raising ATA by 2. Heavenly/Ability raises all stats other than ATA by 25, while again raising ATA by 2.
Heavenly/Arm raises ATA by 25(!)
Heavenly/Power, Body and Legs units raise their relevant stat by 55. Heavenly/Mind raises MST by 45. Heavenly/Luck raises LCK by 40.
Heavenly/Battle raises attack speed by 40%.
There are other, special units as well, including one that raises tech speed, one like a God/Ability that acts like a Heavenly/Battle as well, and one that raises the success rate of special attacks.

It does look good, if somewhat overpowered. Still, I heard that Sega's way of balancing these units (and ep4 rares in general) is to make them insanely difficult to find - so maybe it isn't as bad as I first thought.

Even for insane drop rates, those are ridiculous. Perhaps if I get a good computer sometime soon (Yeah right, but I can dream) I may want to get BB.............

Also, in BB, I think the chance of finding a rare enemy is 1/206. Half as in gc!

The BB rare monster rate is currently unknown, I believe - though most rumours I've heard are 1/256. I've certainly noticed an increase in the number of rare monsters found, but the actual rate will be stored server-side, so you would need to hack to find it out I presume.
