Shifta is overrated? o_O
#1
Here's something that's been bugging me for awhile: why does Shifta require so much more MST than the other support techs? Today I was playing around with a mag I've been raising recently, a high MIND mag specifically for helping my forces and female non-force characters use their tech disks earlier. The mag currently has a MIND level of 85 (side note: I think high MIND mags are overrated unless you're a FOnewearl; when comparing this mag to my FOnewm's 30-MIND Nidra, I saw only a slight difference in technique damage...).

So today I had the four characters who have been raising this mag - my FOnewm, RAmarl, HUnewearl and FOnewearl - meet up and use some of the disks I've been storing on them. My RAmarl has had a disk of Shifta 20 for quite a while now, and its requirement was 591 MST. I passed her a Deband 20 disk, and she could already use it - it was around 380 MST, IIRC. Now, what's the deal with this? One of them she can use instantly... the other she couldn't use without equipping four Angel/Mind++'s, the Akiko's Frying Pan (+30 MST), and the high-MIND mag (and leveling it up to 84 MIND, that just barely got her to 592). Now, unless I misread something, Deband, Jellen and Zalure disks all have the same requirement. What's with the 591 for Shifta? True, Shifta is one of the most useful support techs (IMO; Jellen being the other), but why does this mean it requires over 200 more MST at level 20? It's just weird, IMO.

Also, I'd like to know where I can find a decent chart of disk requirements. Both this site and PSOW claim that Deband and J/Z require the same MST as Shifta does (they say 592 for all of them at level 20), but that's not true... unless I'm using a rather screwed-up version of this game that lists Deband requirements too low... :S

[brag]Heh, I used about twenty different disks today between those four characters... since my FOnewm has a God/Technique, all his techs but Deband (29), J/Z (29) and Megid (22... :ermm: ) are top-level... not bad for level 92 eh? Big Grin[/brag]

i dont know. maybe your game is different. Myt friend has a game where androids cant use ---/ability. maybe your shifta needs more mst. Shifta is the most useful support tech so maybe the two websites are wrong. I just know that Shifta is not overrated

See, that's just the thing... it says 592 for all the level 20 support techs, whereas only Shifta 20 was at that level; Deband 20 was not, it was at 380...

Yeah, Shifta requires more MST, simply because it's the most powerful support technique.

Red support techniques (Shifta/Jellen) are more efficient than blue ones (Deband/Zalure).

shifta is definitely not overrated. at level 30 it adds something like 47 or 48% of your base atp to your attacking atp.
Too legit to quit.

Yeah, I didn't really mean to say "overrated" in terms of use... just its requirement is sort of ridiculous. Oh well. Doesn't really matter, I have the high MIND mag to pass around to correct this little annoyance, so I can use both at the same time next time I have this problem (i.e. when it's my HUnewearl's turn to learn level 20 S/D).
