I had the Speedtouch 330 with my old Virgin.net connection. It doesn't matter what connection speed your connection is, it'll still work. To use your Gamecube though (If that's what you want to do) you'll have to plug your Broadband Adapter into your computers LAN port and enable Internet Connection Sharing to get online, since the Speedtouch 330 only has one output, RJ-45.

So, while my PC is on, connect to the internet (making sure sharing is enabled), and then try to connect on my GC?

It does make sense. Okay I'll give it a try. Hopefully I'll have the right cable ^^

It's just a standard LAN cable as far as i know! If you're totally unsure, i can guarantee that if you go and buy a Xbox Live Link-up cable from GAME, it will definately work, because that's what i've got! lol

You may also have to temp. disable your firewall or antivirus software MAYBE, but you shouldn't really. I had to the first time, but i don't anymore, i don't know what's changed :S Just make sure you restart your computer when you've changed your LAN settings (I.e. Enabled ICS)

Okay I just tried - I got the message saying to check if my cables are in correctly lol

The cable I'm using is this one, beside my partially hidden Datel KB's box:

It came with Wanadoo... I think. Not sure what it is, but I tried it out by connecting it from my Gamecube to my PC, while it was connected to the internet. I enable Sharing, but I didn't restart the PC. I will try that now.

Is this the Xbox cable you're talking about?:

Thanks^^

Yea, thats an RJ-45 cable, which is basically a phone line cable, what you use to plug your modem into the wall (BT Phone Socket). What you'll need to plug into your Gamecube & PC is what you've linked to on the GAME website, although if you go into a shop the box will look a little different (Whiter) and you'll be able to get one now, not in 2/3 days so the site says!

I still can't seem to get online... Sad

Okay I just bought one of these less than 2 hours a go, I think (hopefully) it's the same:
http://www.chipsworld.co.uk/detProd.asp?...Code=10639

I've connected it from my GC's broadband adapter to my PC's RJ-45 LAN port (all fits perfectly).

But, I just tried getting online to renew my HL, and it comes with that same 'make sure the cables are connected correctly' error. I've connected to the net, and, I have Internet Sharing Enabled, which should be via this: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y268/vo...haring.gif ...right?

I also have my firewall turned off.

Can't see where I'm going wrong... I am using default settings via the connection set up screen on the GC - do I have to enter any special ones? I leave the proxy and everything blank...

Any help appreciated!! ^^

Chips World? Lol! I dunno what that cable is, but from the brief description it looks like it's the badger. And RJ-45 LAN port? That's not right :/ But i think i know what you're meaning Tongue

Have you already bought a similiar cable then and tried to get online with it? You say you still can't get online, but have you got a new cable/similiar cable to what i was talking about already? Because the cable you've gone and bought from Chips World is the same thing...

Plug the LAN cable into the LAN port on your computer (Plug should have a symbol looking like this on it:
**|-[]
[]-|
**|-[] >>Ignore the *'s)

Plug the other end of the LAN cable into the Gamecube BBA.

Make sure all your SEGA Network info on your Memory card you're using to connect is set to detect everything automatically (You haven't specifically entered any number's into anywhere like Proxy settings, etc.).

When you've got your Gamecube turned on and it's trying to connect to the PSO lobbies, if you're using Windows XP, one of the little bubbles should appear if everything's set up properly, saying it's detecting an incoming connection or something like that, or maybe network could not be established? Either way, the least it should do on the little LAN Connection icon in the Windows Taskbar is have a little red dot travelling between one PC to another at some stage between turning your GC on and connecting to PSO online.

If it doesn't do anything or it's not there, you've done something wrong in your Network Settings. In that image you've shown, have you set-up ICS by clicking on 'Learn more about Internet Connection Sharing'? because there's a wizard there that'll set everything up for you.

I'm just trying to think of everything really here...

I tried the ICS Wizard, thanks.

My PC is listed in the manual as a 'LAN port (RJ-45)', so I called it that lol It has a symbol similar to this above it: https://broadband.hmfc1874.com/images/lan_symbol.gif

When I tried the Wizard, it seems my PC knows the ethernet cable is there, but the other computer (the GC) is disconnected. I've tried turning the Gamecube on, then off again... but the PC doesn't detect it.

I'm Windows XP Home Ed. - and there doesn't seem to be any symbols or speechbubble as you described coming up once my GC is turned on.

As for the GC itself, it knows the broadband adapter is attached, and tries connecting using the default settings. But, whether I try connecting via the lobby or the HL website, it says the 'please check if your cable is connected correctly' error.

So perhaps the problem is with the cable again! I will try another trip to GAME and get the first hook-up cable I talked about.

Though the Datel one I bought yesterday SHOULD have worked - on the front and back of the box it says:

- Perfect for online gaming

- Supports full 10 MBPS and 100 MBPS Ethernet Connectivity

- Connect your Xbox to Cable Modems DSL Modems and Networks

- Xbox Colorway

- 10 foot cable for easy link-up

- Simply Plug and Play

Oh, and a website link lol. Just found a better place for the description:
http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.a...ProdID=257

Now unless there is something very wrong with my new BBA, then I'm guessing I need to try another cable...

Thanks again for your advice Lee-yoshi^^ Can you see where else I might be going wrong?

Yea, the symbol you've linked to is the one i drew, just rotated around, and you would have the right cable.

Go to 'My Network Places', click 'View Network Connections' from the left hand navigation menu, which connection have you set-up Internet Connection Sharing with? With my computer at least, there's 2 options: '1394 Connection' & 'Local Area Connection' - Make sure you've set the connection up so it's working the 'Local Area Connection'. If you have, does it say it's connected before and after you've connected it upto your Gamecube and started trying to Dial-up with your Gamecube?

Which option did you choose when setting up Internet Connection Sharing with the ICS Wizard? When it asks you to select a connection method, first choose 'Other' and then 'This computer connects directly to the internet. I do not have a Network yet'. Continue until it asks about file sharing, and make sure that you've selected the 'Turn On file and printer sharing'.
