Favorite anime
Wouldn't it be funny though? out of the blue a war goes on and in the following episode, someone is just playing in a field and runs to some guy. And to top it off, the episodes are no way similar and it is now an anime of complete randomness! Tongue

Stick figure comics are histarical. . . but I don't know why. . .Tongue

Akira wasn't confusing. In the 80's, a psychic explosion occurs that surpasses the power of an atomic wepon, destroying Tokyo. That begins WWIII. After the war ends, and the rebuilding of Neo-Tokyo is complete, it is divided into two sections. Neo Tokyo, and the Old City. Old City is where Kaneda's Heroics and the other bike gangs run rampant. One night, while fighting the Clowns, a rival gang, a young boy runs in front of Tetsuo's bike and Tetsuo hits the boy, or so it seems. The boy established a psychic barrier that protected him, and almost kills Tetsuo. Tetsuo is one of the member's of Kaneda's Heroics This sets off Testuo's latent psychic abilities that would have otherwised remained hidden, the young boy is the product of a psychic military unit that Japan's military was developing for combat. Simple enough, it then leads into the movie. That's easy enough to understand.

They do leave some things out of the movie that was in the manga, like Tetsuo becoming the leader of the Clowns and killing off all of the Heroics and Clows with the exception of Kaneda and the guy that is with them at the end of the movie. Otherwise, the two are similar. And as stated above the animation was two decades before it's time. It is one of the only films from the eighties that I can watch without gaging. Where you compare it to things like Dragon Ball, ect. =/

As for Gundam SEED, yes I did watch it, All the way up about till halfway through Destiny. And still it lagged in story. The only thing that kept Kira from dying the whole time was his beserker thing. I forgot what they called the genetically engineered humans, but that was what started the war. Humans vs. their superior genetic counterparts.

what started the war was the fear of whats different, the fear people have with knowing what they have and wishing to protect what they know.

it shouldnt be to hard to see where it links, the middle east has been having a similar war for eons. one believing they are right and the other beleving they are right, each trying to protect their own beliefs.
if one says they are wrong then its all for nothing, so it continues.

earth and its "naturals" fearful of what the "Coordinators" are, somthing that is born with health, talent ect, and groups that started to try and wipe them out... the "Coordinators" wishing to protect themselfs establish the colonies and wishing to protect themselfs also have military power and, as with every people within the world/galaxy, there are extreamists. so that leaves both sides fighting against eachother with each side believing they are protecting themselfs.
but when we are shown what its like for a group of naturals and coordinators who grew up in a neutral zone who are then forced into the war.... showing again it all comes down to wishing to protect yourselfs and who you love.

^^ at least thats what i think anyway.

Yep. I liked it that Gundam SEED wasn't centred around politics or religion. Kira didn't just have the Berserk (SEED) ability; he was *spoiler* born unusually gifted, being the sole survivor of the "Ultimate" coordinator project. What made it interesting was that he grew up normally with foster parents not knowing this. His "ultimateness" (e.g. being able to make fast calculations, being physically tough and immune to stuff...) is the reason he keeps surviving. You only find out about this in the end, but it does makes sense. Compare it to what happens to the character Tolle.

Ah, yeah. Plot of Akira coming back to me. It was actually the ending I didn't quite get, but then, that was like 7-8 years ago and I was probably too stupid to understand anything back then, lol. I watched it alone and it was scary. XD

edit: OH NO, I lost my "Wizard" title! >_< I don't want to be an Expert Hunter!!! X_X

Awwwww. That's really bad that you got demoted. I am so sick. . . I get home and after a few days, I over heat and almost freeze to death. I'm telling you that so you guys know that I won't be writing much. Once I feel a bit better, then I'll talk. :depress:

Hope you guys have fun talking. . . Anyways, I think I have watched a little bit of Arika. It had an android girl kicking some guy's butt. Is this Arika?
