I was under the impression that most of the hacking had been cut out of Ep2 ( for the time being ) but it seems that there is still some BS going on. Can people still dupe? How? Are there still FSOD's and BSOD's and CKing ??

Duping is still about yea... Dunno how its done, and i wouldnt mention it on the Forums either. FSOD still happens, ive had it a few times. I'm not sure if its somone hacking the Servers and causing FSOD's, or the Servers themselves.

All the data for PSO is stored on the client so if you ran an emulator on a pc and managed to connect to a server you could easily dupe that way, otherwise you'd have to edit memory card save files, or hook you gamecube up to a PC and use a hex editor to alter the memory (very hard to do !)

FSOD still happen although I think it is to busy servers than hacking. Duping seems common. And corruption is still there          . However, hacking as in DC hacking does not seem present on Episode 2 (for the time being).

i recently found out that u can actually dupe on episode 2 without using a pc or editing the memory card files. its just a matter of stopping the second save from happening. so, to everyones dismay, duping is back.

I cant see the point in duping. Its like wasting your money on something, since your not playing it properly.

this is very strange cause sega said that they were going to get people to get rid of hacking, and of there were any signs of hacking then those people would be banned
look for me my name character names are:
Shadow, HUmar
Sakura, FOnewearl
Krun, RAmar
Brolly, HUmar
i got some great items

Hmmm. I have an idea for stopping hacking but I know of the logistical problems in actually pulling any of our ideas off.
Mine works like most people's ideas... using random numbers to stop duping. But the problem with that is eventually... you are going to get two numbers the same.
With my idea, each item is coded using your personal serial codes you have to enter when you first play PSO. Each time a rare, or super rare is dropped a random number is created based on the item and it's attributes/percents and encoded with your serial codes.
Whenever you go online. Any rare items are checked in a database to see if there are any duplicate numbers. No two items should every be the same because they were encoded with your serial number. So if someone has say a Dark Flow with good percents and someone else has Dark Flow with the same percents, they are not duplicated because they both would have different serial codes in them.
But actual trying to do this would be a knightmare. A computer that can check millions of items across 10s of servers would have to be pretty beefy. That is why I say, keep it to super rares, maybe 10 or even 11 stars plus.
And the issue of security. People will eventually crack the code and be able to have people's codes they use for PSO.

the people i knew from my last site didn't meaninglyess do it they did it to back up their weapons incase of f-sod which sounds pretty reasonable don't you think so cos like if you're carryin a weap from one team ta another you like don't wanna lose it mid-way *like what happened to my yamigarasu* so dupin isn't always stupid but it does ruin the game a little i thinks cos you're usin a bug in the game to your advantage which i think is kinda wrong

You have got a point about backing up your weapons, but sooner or later your going to take the duping up as a hobby. What I mean is, you'll eventually get bored and you will want something to do to keep the game alive. This is were you will be duping all your items and selling, trading them for other dupes.
And hopefully in future PSO games this bug will be fixed.
