For your question about a good weapon.. they can get off more spells at once if they don't have one equipped at all. FOnewms get all of their advantages in the nuking spells, so when you get 'em, stick to those and work out a method of killing everything in the room in a few short blasts. This is what I do, and I can survive at level 77 in Ultimate caves, at least for a while. So... yeah, best tip, no weapon. They let off a lot more spells a lot faster. As for the level thing... varries. Early on, these guys can be a bit tricky to work with, so I didn't beat normal mode until level 30 or so, but I beat hard around level 40, and if you can get to the mines, if you have a decent gizonde tech skill level, you can gain levels and XP really fast. That's what I was all about, anyways. I beat DF on VH at level 73, with few difficulties (just bring a few scape dolls.)
