Yeah, I can definitely support the idea that hackers tend to carry legit stuff as well. I mean, this one guy with the megid was using a BKB with 120% dark, so he said to me... and later he piped away to get a Red Handgun with 100% native (and, I'm assuming, generous amounts of hit%). I didn't really mind. I only know one person offline who has active, unlegit characters (not online though), but he will use his legit stuff for multiplayer mode with the rest of us. Also another who had an unlegit "phase" but does not use that memory card anymore (and to my knowledge, never brought that card online). At any rate, they taught me how to make backups, which has saved my ass twice already - first by allowing me to keep all my weapons, guards and units when I lost my card (my dupeholder is a dummy character who exists on a totally different card), and once when I got FSODed for no apparant reason in the middle of TTF. So there's definitely some advantages to knowing parts of the nonlegit/half-legit crowd.
Basically, my opinion boils down to: I respect if you're nonlegit, as long as you respect I'm legit and don't try to feck me up. Not that this has happened (I don't exactly hang out in Deneb; this guy with the Megid was the rare hacker who came to Altair for a bit).
