If I were you I'd call Nitendo Customer support. When I bought my Game Boy Advance, a few months later it wouldn't read games. I called and found out that the SP has two processors. One for old Game Boy games and one for advance games. The processors for Game Boy advance games was damage and needed replaced so I sent it in and they repaired it for free because I was still under warranty. They even pay for S&H.
My point is it wouldn't hurt calling customer support!
