So basically if you use Dial-Up, you waited all that time for nothing and now have to order the modem adapter. If you use DSL, Cable, or T1, you use the Broadband. The GCN will require the wire that you use to connect to your computer unless you have a router. If not, then you'll have to unplug your PC and plug that connection into your GCN everytime you want to play online. Luckily for me, I have a router.
