Wha'?! A thread in the EP3 section?! Holy crud! This is amazing!
Okay... basic run down of how to play.
Each player has a Story Character (SC), these are the Fomars, and the Ramarls, and Hucaseals, and all those lovable characters from EP1&2. The SC's have alot of HP... that is because when he dies, that player loses. So, the object of the game is to kill the enemy SC.
Arkz (Darkside) SC's can summon monsters from EP1&2 to the field, and move them around and have them attack enemies. Hunters (Heroside) equip items and weapons from the old PSO and use them to attack.
At the start of every turn, you make a Dice Roll. You get an ATK die, and a DEF die.
Then you "Set" either monsters or weapons depending on if you are an Arkz or a Hunter (not like HUmar kind of hunter though, I mean like Heroside kind of Hunter). This takes ATK dice equal to the number of yellow dots on the card. You can only have a total of 8 yellow dots out on your team at any one time.
Then you "Move". Typically, moving one block takes one ATK die.
Then you do your "Action" this is when you attack. Attacking takes one ATK die, but you can combo monters/weapons with other cards (Attack Action Cards) to greatly increase damage, though it also takes more ATK dice to use.
Then the enemy does his "Defense", this is where the DEF roll is used to play Defense Action Cards that will reduce the damage you do.
After all your attacks are done, you "Draw" and it is the opponent's turn.
There's a tutorial that you can do from the main menu if you want to learn more.... or you can read the instruction manual. But that's the gist of it; it's alot different from EP1&2, but it's also alot cooler (though more ignored).
