I'm not sure about that... after all, you could just as easily make the argument that all piping is illegit... but that's a huge gray area. 
So you're saying it's legit to pipe 9 lilies, but not 8 slimes? Why would they put them in a room then? Seems like a waste of system memory to me, if they are never seen.
What I would do with that room, then, is pipe just the 8. 32 slimes is WAY too many for them not to accidentally kill each other. It's hard enough with just the 8 in Addicting Food.
I have also never heard of the piping through rocks trick. Does anyone know? I'd love to be able to pipe 8 slimes and do my homework at the same time like I can do with other rare enemies.
