I do it 'cos I like to perform, I soak up the crowd like a sponge, but I'd much rather perform for people who appreciate the hard-work I've put into composing the songs and working on them, work which I don't get direct money for.
These suits are just hiring me for the break periods within a business meeting at a hotel in London, (being in London helps me bump up the cost a bit though).
This is why I have to charge so much, the equipment I buy costs a lot of money, Sibelius 4 costs £956 per copy, so on a network of 12 computers, that's costing me around £10k, the computers of which all cost at least £3k each, and then there's the keyboards I use, they are £3.5k each.
Beckham gets £110k per match he plays, that's £110 for 2 hours work, which is what I probably earn in a year from the keyboard alone, you can't honestly tell me a pair of football boots and kit costs £110k, at the end of the day, I probably don't make much more than most people working a 9-5, there's a lot of behind the scenes work that people never see, (not unless they buy Scott Bull: Pheonix 7,000 on DVD/VHS anyhow).
Anyhow, another guitar you might like to try is anything by Yamaha, even their budget range has come a long way in the past 3 years, and since Technics are no longer producing keyboards, they don't have to splash out so much on R/D and advertising, and they can put this money into making new products with a higher quality, (the Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard is proof of this).
