As for amping acoustics, unless you're performing at the Royal Albert Hall, (Which has good acoustics, I've performed there), just get a mic and hook it to anything like a hi-fi, (if you can afford it, I recommend the Shure SM-58, though that does cost around £100, whilst being pennies to me, might be a big of a budget stretcher to a hobbyist).
