I find this is almost impossible; define energy by what it is, as opposed to what it does. :>
That's energy in the chemistry/physics sense, although in reality they're all one and the same. For example, "Give water more energy and eventually it turns into a gas (steam)" is wrong, as that defines it by what it does.
