There's a website where you can look up the mythology behind Final Fantasy. There's so much of it. It will be similar with most games, it's incredibly difficult to be original nowadays, everything has just been done.

There sure can't be much behind FF8, unless there were prophecies of giant flying mercenary schools and kick ass flying motor cycles! Now that's some mythology I'd like to read.

Interesting fact about the mags, I noticed it a whiled ago studying RS (religious studies) A-level. I wonder what the photon blasts are named after, because that's bound to be something.
