Quote:Everyone has been pretty curious about Sega. The company hasn't revealed much about their next-generation plans outside of confirming the obvious (i.e. Sonic the Hedgehog), and it seemed odd to release Phantasy Star Universe, a game contingent on players going online and hack 'n slashing it up, so late into the PlayStation 2's life cycle.
The worrying -- at least as far as Phantasy Star is concerned -- can stop, as Sega has confirmed Phantasy Star Universe will be dropping on Xbox 360 later this year with full support for Xbox Live. "The reinvigoration of this beloved franchise on the Xbox 360 signifies another step for SEGA towards next-gen leadership," said Sega of America VP of entertainment marketing Scott A. Steinberg.
Phantasy Star Universe on Xbox 360 will more than likely remain the same game Sega has been showing off on the PlayStation 2 and PC, but look for the visuals to undergo an overhaul. There's no reason not to expect hands-on time with the game next month, so stay tuned for more.
