..... I'm not sure about it. I mean.. its kind of a dumb question but... is it really that good? are there lots of players? is the experience any different from the drone of the old PSO? my cousin and i want to try the game out.... WoW is getting old. Can anyone give me a lowdown on the plus and minus situation of the game? it would be much appreciated.

players, you don't have to worry about that.
i have played psu but the game was repetitive like pso, but i so like more pso, don't ask why, the game is fun online (PSU), but i didn't like it.
if someone has an original game, you can simply make a copy of it and try offline for that matter, if you really like the game, register online

Yeah, like Nomercy said, offline is just awful. But it of curse gives a slight taste of what the online game is like, and completely owning things in Extra Mode can be fun too! Offline has limited content, but it can help to try it!
As for online, there's a good amount of people. It's a very teamwork-oriented game, so you'll want to make lots of friends! And with shops and whatnot, it isn't too hard to find a good deal on something you need! Also, you'll need to synthezize a lot of items! There's quite a bit to hunt, and the gameplay is enjoyable, to me at least!

yeah i picked up the game today. haven't gotten around to registering for online yet. offline is alright. i think it runs a bit slow... not alot. unless combat isnt super fast moving.

Just wait until the end of chapter 12 offline...Then you'll see how slow it runs. On PS2 anyway.

yeh im online now. level 8 beast hunter.... but where do you all play? which universe/server jaunt. doesnt seem like many people play this game anymore =[
