I've had almost the same thing happen. I been going out with my girlfriend for 2 years then she moved about 5 hours away and we still see each other every once and a while (but i can drive >.>) and we still talk on the phone and internet. It's worked out for a year so i believe in them and i believe it can work, just remember to keep trying to get into concact. And with 4 hrs away it shouldn't be hard to get in contact because you should still be in the same time zone.
