It is a masculine trait to laugh or shrug off emotional pain, or to care a little less about things. But then, who wants to be masculine? I'm a guy and I certainly couldn't give a damn how good people thought I was at being 'manly'.
The real question isn't "is caring un-manly?" but "is being manly a good thing?" - I find girls open up more and respond more if you can show you're more intelligent and affectionate than the average ox. So what is people call you a pussy? What is that insult anyway? Oh god no! I'm a small cat! At least I'm not a bull on steroids so put that in your hyper-masculine pipe and smoke it
