Face it, all these stereotypical groups are based on nothing more than people just "going with the crowd". All that will change in time. But deep down everyone is different, it doesn't matter how much you "act emo". It's as irrelevant as "dressing emo", because these things are just on the surface. What's inside is the real you and will probably not change with time. If you get to know someone properly you'll likely be surprised as to who they really are.
E.g. I'm a vegetarian but do I refuse to speak to people who eat meat? Of course not, that would be ridiculous.
