Some advice, carry 8-12 wand/rods, I would say 4 rods and 8 wands.
You don't need that many wands or rods. You'll be fine with a nice combination of 5. Meaning 3 wands and 2 rods, or 3 rods and 2 wands. It's really just a preference thing. I would recommend carrying a bow, as that is a nice ranged weapon.

If you happen to run out of pp at a bad time, just use a photon charger. Simple.
