It is if you use a red weapon. The red weapon has to be the finishing blow I believe though. Then you pipe back down to the ruins and into the field and it goes back to the way it was before you fought falz. But instead, Rico will be standing there. When you get close though, she dissapears. [Of course there's a teleport supplied to for you to go back.]
This is in the gamecube version however. I have yet to see or know if it can be done in Blue Burst, but then again I don't see why you couldn't.
EDIT: There's notihng you can do when the red ring falls. As far as I know, it never became a legit item on the gamecube, or blue burst for that matter. Any Red Ring was a hack...and it was pretty gay...cus if you died it acted as a scape doll and it dissapeared. =\
