Melody yawned and scratched her stomach through her nightie. Then she looked around to make sure no one had seen that. Her eyes slipped over to her alarm clock. 900 Beats. Shit, Sunday Morning. Last lie-in for another week. On Monday, it would be back to work for all of them. Why was she not tired any more? It sucked. On weekdays, she would have sold her soul to sleep til' noon. But now she was just not tired enough to relish the power of sleep in weekends. Her recently scratched stomach growled for a bacon sandwich. Melody slipped off to the kitchen.

Lazuli sat hunched over the kitchen table, brooding. She could not stop it, the gloating chuckles of the demon, the death screams of her friends. How could something so twisted crawl into her brain like that?
She could hear bare feet pattering on the floor. Melody, her usually perfect hair looking like shit, walked into the kitchen.
Lazuli took one look at her and burst into tears.
"Wha-wha? Lazuli, what the fuck?" Melody gasped.
"I had a nightmare! It was horrible!"
"A nightmare, why was it so bad?"
"It was horrible, the ship was shaking, everyone was trying to get to the shuttles! Then this monster just ripped open the hull! It crushed two residential blocks, and these knives, Melody, it had these fucking knives on tenticles! It ripped down buildings, and destroyed the shuttles, but it used these knives to stab people and eat them! It was like a fucking horror film!
But it ate everyone! It spoke to me, I heard this hissing voice, Join with me, become a part of me Lazuli!!! It ate the girls next door! Clionna! Dreamer! Pleiades! Obelia! It harpooned them and swallowed! And-"
The thought of that horrible blade spearing Melody was just too much. Hot tears poured down Lazuli's tears and the sobbing started all other again.
When she calmed down, she continued.
"One of those spears got you Melody! Then it ate all the mags! Erina tried to use Grants on it, but the thing liked that, it liked the way she tried to save us, that just amused it. Then it just ate her and Pleione! Then this voice in my head told me, that I was the last one left, then the knife came towards me and, I woke up. But it was the most horrible thing I have ever seen!"
Melody took Lazuli in her arms, and said softly: "Don't worry Lazuli, I am here. That bastard didn't eat me, or the girls next door, or the mags, or the others. It has gone now."
Lazuli smiled.
Melody then looked right into Lazuli's eyes.
"Lazuli?"
"Yes?"
"We really have to find you a boyfriend."
